Weekend Roll Call 10-19-24

I actually heard Rome talking about this song a couple of weeks
ago. Never heard it before, or of the band itself.

Gotta take care of some unfinished business. Back to
fucking Buc-cee's from last week for a minute.
I don't think the place sucks. It is just horribly overhyped.
If I had never heard shit about it and rolled up on one, I
guess I would be kind of wowed merely by its size and
over the top gimmickry. But the hype that I have seen-
mainly from FB dorks that have to stop and post pics
every time they see one, would have you think it's the
best place ever. It is not. It's a giant Quik Trip, with a
Dollar General inside, selling overpriced beaver logo'd
crap, and a billion gas pumps. No way in hell more than
half of those pumps are in use at the same time.
If you have a Walmart with gas pumps nearby, you have
no use for fucking Buc-cee's.

Grill biz and football rule the weekend.
Some great games today and tomorrow.
Hoping MIZZOU gets their heads out of their asses and
puts the shit on Auburn today. Don't we have some damn
War Eagle kook here? Carson perhaps? Fuck War Eagle.
Tenn and Bama at 2:30. Go Vols!
Following that one, Ga @ Texas. Tex fave by 5, but I
got a feeling the Dawgs win outright.
Tomorrow- Det @ Minn early- Minn takes their first loss.
Road to the 3pete (113 days) rolls thru Frisco tomorrow.
Search a little and you can find KC plus 2. Find it,
and it's the pay your mortgage pick of the week.
Coach Reid 21-4 coming off a bye. Mahomes 11-1-1
against the spread as a dog. 10-3 outright.
Easy $$ on this one.

16 days until the election.
I could spend half the day blabbering about the yam
and his ignorant antics just from the past week. It's like
he is personally acting out every single old man trait
that he ever accused Sleepy Joe of. It's hysterical and
sad at the same time. The trumper cult could not care
less though. They just keep slurping his orange jizz.
You know what I am talking about trumpers. Don't even
try and deny it.

Happy weekend, Y'all.

Early voting started yesterday for us, I loved it (my assignment is to assist the elderly and disabled to where they need to be), but at the end of the day yesterday I was wiped out, just brutal pain. But today is another day and so far so good. Here's the line that the elderly and disabled can avoid:

I'm working so that's it for now, y'all have a good one.

I mailed my seventeen ballots in last week, and dropped off another five at the library, the senior center, the community center, the high school and the water company office. .

You, sir, are a patriot.

Bama playing for their season today. I don’t feel confident, but UT is scuffling, too. If the Tide loses today, I can see a 4 loss year. Let’s look good today, boys.

Lots of good games. Lazy day for me.

This gives me an idea. If I go to Buffalo, can I vote?

I’ve got a few extra ballots if you want them. Just let me know. They’re for California, but who’s going to care?

I'll bring my friends. I love it, Canucks voting in Buffalo and submitting California ballots.

I will be voting for George Washington, so stick that in your bum and smoke it. As a responsible American voter, I will be involved in all the political discussions here. None of that 'but.. but.. George' bullshit. I run a tight ship.

How dare you insult the Father of Our Country.

Though some believe that Steve Garvey has displaced George for that title.

Steve Garvey is not my Padre.

It got down to 46 F here yesterday morning. First time below 50 and first time I've had to wear long pants for our morning walk since last winter.

Still, this is one of the nicest parts of the year here, when we get a little offshore flow we get crystal clear, though chilly, mornings and sunny afternoons in the low 80s. Perfect for digging holes and stuff in the yard.

A couple of pictures from our walk this morning. Chilly but not as cold as yesterday.

This is from the top of the hill, looking east. In the distance you can see Palomar Mountain, about about 6,100 ft and 21 miles away. Home of the Palomar Observatory, which has a 200 inch optical telescope, largest in the world from the time it was installed in 1949 until 1975.

This is looking northwest.

The hills on the horizon to the left of the palm tree create a profile known locally as Sleeping Indian. I think there's a movement to have it changed to Sleeping Guardian.
