Any of you trumper genius' want to explain how the
math will be working with some of the things the right
wingers have planned?

1. Tariffs as high as 100% on imported goods. This is supposedly
going to bring home jobs.

a) bringing home jobs will not happen over night.

b) increased costs from tariffs of imported goods will raise prices,
that will affect the economy, and raise inflation.

c) increased costs to build factories and pay higher American wages
will affect the economy, and raise inflation.

2. Deport up to 1,000,000 illegals.

a) Homan- the new czar told 60 minutes a few weeks back, that
his plan could cost up to $88 billion per year.

b) Unemployment is pretty low now ... 4.1% Americans do not
want to work the jobs that most illegals take, and damn sure
not for the wages they pay. Paying Americans good wages to do
those jobs affects the economy, and raises inflation.

c) We don't have enough workers that want to work the number
of lower paying entry level jobs that we currently have. We damn sure
won't when removing 1,000,000 illegals.

d) Who would be working all of the jobs that would be coming
back to the states?

"American Made," used to mean, great quality, long lasting.
In some cases it still does .... but in every single case now
it stands for "EXPENSIVE." The average factory worker isn't getting
out bed for less than $30 per hour. Oh, it's a union you job eh,
then it's $40 per hour.

I can help you with the deportation questions. Millions of people illegally crossed our southern border because they were encouraged and/or welcomed to do so by the current administration's policies. I also anticipate that persons and organizations who harbor and/or employ persons who illegally crossed our border will find themselves in legal and financial jeopardy through the enforcement of existing laws. This should encourage a significant number of the millions who crossed our border illegally to reconsider their decision and self-deport through reverse migration (i.e., walk their asses back from whence they came). To the extent that there are jobs that cannot be filled by citizens, we have existing laws and programs that allow temporary entry into the country for such purposes. What you should expect is that the existing laws will actually be enforced. I doubt there will be any new laws. We really do not need them. We only need to enforce the laws that already exist. And if you are a person who wishes to enter the country lawfully, I anticipate this will be a great time to do so.

I don't have time to explain tariffs to you. All I will say is that they are not applied like a sledgehammer. They are applied like a scalpel. And they are adjustable to achieve measurable goals. They can be lifted when the other side complies with demands. Over time, the use of tariffs should encourage US manufacturing and production, which reduces the dependence on foreign sources of goods. But there are some goods that should be made overseas (because they are better at it than us or have geographic advantages etc.). If you really want an education regarding how tariffs should be implemented, listen to Elon Musk riffing about it with Joe Rogan. Again, you can clutch your pearls if you want to. But what will actually happen is, as usual, nothing like the expectations you allow your programmers to install in your brain.
