Another Saturday subbing a vid for a tune....
Guessing you have already seen this play 100 times,
but if not...
The greatest calculated, practiced and executed
special teams play I have ever seen, and I will challenge anyone
to find a better one that meets all 3 criteria.
Weather dorks have me believing this will be the last nice weekend
we here in FOC will see for a few mos. Lots of grill work and honeydo's.
Make hay while the sun shines.
Zou at S.C. today. Miz pulled one out of their ass last week. Do it again this
week I may resume drinking the black and gold Kool-Aid.
Of more interest to me is tonight's Tenn vs Ga. game. It opened with Tenn
getting 10.5 points. Current odds are 8.5 - 9.5 depending on where you look.
I like Tenn to win this game outright. So much so ... I am having my son drop a
couple of dollars for me while he is on the Kansas side of the city (where betting
is legal and in currently in place) later today. We all know my spread picks
have not been stellar so far... fingers crossed.
Chiefs- Bills tomorrow. Chiefs lost their Sven Gollyesque nutty kicker this
week as the injuries just keep on coming. Added some practice squad guy
from the Jets. If KC somehow wins this game, home field advantage will
basically be locked up. A loss will keep things interesting. KC has not faired
particularly well against Buff of late in the regular season. I am expecting
the first loss of the season, and with only 85 days until the 3pete.
A loss could be great in the long run. I am already hearing way to much talk
of an undefeated season. Wrapping up homefield, resting players and winning
it all is of more importance to this Chiefs fan.
MotW
"Bag slappers," is a real thing. Terlits like those had
G.I.'s sitting on the shitter backwards which was not the worst thing...
the tank made a nice table to hold your beer and ash tray.
Happy weekend, Y'all.

Looking forward to having my Bills hand the Chiefs their first loss.
Would make it even sweeter after Trump dispatched of that cackling skank.

I get an epidural on Monday, and not a moment too soon. It has been brutal for me recently. I should have gotten an epidural weeks ago but couldn't due to scheduling. So I've been reduced to walking with a cane at times, not something that I like to do, but honestly it helps. And of course I'm baking for the docs and nurses, I think I'll do sugar cookies and a tray of brownies.
Thanksgiving is coming up, and I've been looking at recipes. Love this holiday, love all the cooking. Thinking about adding a crab and brie soup to the menu, really good stuff there.
It is race day for Manhattan Twist, I wish I could be there in person to watch him run. Maybe one of "my" horses will make it to the Louisiana Derby next year, I'd definitely be there for that.
Time to get moving, haircut day and then grocery store. Then football. Tomorrow we're going to the Saints game.
Y'all have a good one.

It was 42 deg at the house this morning. First time in nine months that I’ve had to wear long pants to the farmers market. It was 65 by midday, though, so back to shorts. We actually have a frost warning for tonight so I just went out and covered our new grapefruit tree, and took three other citrus that I haven’t planted yet into the garage.

Almost identical temps here today, Mikey. 43 this morning when I walked my dog. Jeans instead of shorts for first time. Cut back and side yards down. Hopefully last grass mowing for year other than the front.
Thought Arkansas might knock off the Horns, but no go on that. LSU is 40 seconds away from another L. Chip, Kelly sucks.

Furd with last second field goal... and beats #19 Louisville. (Damn you... Troy Taylor!)
At least San Jose State is up 14-0 over #13 Boise State.

Pretty lazy day for me today. Slept in- I love to do that on the weekends. I detest mornings. Hit up the grocery store for some lunchmeats, cheese, and a bun for an italian hoagie for dinner. Built a fire in the fireplace at around 2:30PM and settled in for some CFB, especially PSU. Wasn't too worried about my Nittany Lions for this game since Purdue should've been a breezy win over. They were.
I like feeding the birds, but only the fall/wintertime. I just enjoy watching them at the feeders as I relax in the recliner while I watch CFB or whatever else w/the fire burning. So, I rendered down some beef fat today for some suet. Added a nice helping of peanut butter, some rolled oats, cornmeal, and sunflower seeds. The birds will be happy for a few weeks until I run out and have to make more.
Tomorrow I'll be picking up leaves in the yard then probably building another fire and relaxing fireside.

Oh, and to add, I'll likely be putzing around on the interwebs again tomorrow looking for a nice, warm-weather place for a vacation in February. Not much is off the table for me. Suggestions are welcome. Considering- Belize (been there already), Trinidad/Tobago, Jamaica, and Treasure Island, FL (been there many times and a favorite, but Milton fucked them again). Panama City, Panama is very intriguing to me also.

This morning when I was at Walmart, my back started hurting bad. Really nasty pain, some unpleasant details, but suffice it to say that I couldn't finish shopping and had to get home. Took a heavy supply of meds which allowed me to sleep.
And I just woke up awhile ago to learn that LSU lost to Florida and Manhattan Twist had a poor race today. Damn.
Took more meds and now in the hot tub, hopefully my back will settle down. We're going to the Saints game tomorrow and I really want to be ok for that.
Monday I'll get a much needed epidural. Those help me so much, and I won't be taking nearly as many pills thereafter, at least until January.

Ken, check out Merida, Yucatán, with the Progreso beach nearby.
Those two articles don't come close to capturing the area, it is beautiful. We have our villa not far from there, we love it. You'll want to spend at least a week there.

If you want peace and quiet---Sanibel Island here is back together. If glitter and crowds are your thing Fort Myers Beach is too.

Old town (the Romantic Zone) Puerto Vallarta is pretty awesome. We lodge one block up the hill from los Muertos beach and pier. Stay away from the hotel zone or areas north of the airport unless all you want is an American resort. Yeah it's a gay center, but there is plenty of room for hetros and prices are low, food options galore, and lodging near the beach is easy to get. The locals treat you nice and the weather in February is about ideal.

Don't listen to Roach, stay away from Mexican fags.
Give Cuba a whirl! It's manly and cheap as chips. Highlights for me was the world's longest cigar, it goes on for miles and it's bloody brilliant. Like the Beatles? Every Cuban cover band has a permanent home at the Beatles bar in Varadero, you'll get completely wrecked! (The rum is top notch)
The food is good, just a bit bland.
In the middle of the island lie the Carpathian mountains, where the King of the Dead sits on his throne of human skulls - don't go there. (if you insist, visiting hours are noon to six - ten convertible pesos for adults)

I have nearly zero interest in Mexico. The only way I would visit Mexico is if I was with a trusted person who would take me to places in the interior (or otherwise) and taste some authentic cuisine.

Been to Sanibel and enjoyed it. Thanks for the suggestion- definitely now on my list. And yes, peace and quiet is what I prefer. As far as Ft. Myers goes, our company has a research station there so I'm already there a couple times/year. If I were to vacation there, it would feel too much like work to me.

This is a bit of a trek but, if you want warm weather, peace and quiet, you can’t go wrong here. At least it was like that 30 years ago when we spent a few days on a trip that included Tahiti and Bora Bora. I remember sitting for an hour or so watching two hermit crabs fighting over a shell on the beach.
Can’t beat the diving there if that’s what you’re interested in.

Thanks for the suggestion, Mikey. That area of the world is certainly on my radar, but won't have enough available time to travel that far. And yes, I'm Scuba certified so, locations such as that are enticing to me. While not Oceana, I have been to SE Asia many times and scuba dived there. Would love to go back.
