It is the CEO of UnitedHealthcare who was shot this morning in NYC. No blood, but the way it was done makes me wonder if it was a professional hit. That, or the relative of someone denied coverage. Very calm and deliberate act.

He died later in the hospital where all the doctors were found to be out-of-network.

There's a huge can on that pistol. Also, a pro would have gotten much closer. Seems like this was a disgruntled customer. Probably only a few dozen million of those for the police to comb through.

The guy was calm cool and collected, even when his gun jammed or didn't cycle thru. Didn't seem like this was his first time to me.

Reportedly the casings left behind carried a message.

Shell casings found at the scene had the words "deny," "defend" and "depose" written on them, a senior New York City law enforcement official briefed on the investigation confirmed to NBC News.

The gun would seem to be a .22 caliber as that is notorious for not cycling the slide completely. But the shooter reacts quickly which also suggest some level of familiarity with the weapon. On the other hand, a pro wouldn't take that shot from that far away and not right in front of a camera.

This article says that the pistol in the video might be the one used.

They are about to catch the assassin. He would be wise to put a cap in his own dome.

There is a lot of police activity here in Central Park and on the west side this evening, particularly close to Jerry and Kramer’s apartment.

Am I the only one cheering for the assassin? This story could only be better if he concealed a Bofors Gun in a handbag.

I don't think the gun "jammed" or stove-piped. I believe the pistol had a slide lock device installed. The slide lock device makes it so the slide must be manually racked to load and fire another round. The shooter appears to have manually racked between each round fired. He's no pro, but the manual of arms on this pistol are second nature to him. LOTS of range time. So WHY would the shooter set up his pistol to run a little slower between rounds?

The slide lock device makes the firearm quieter, along with the suppressor. Just my .02

Whose bottom line are you talking about?

If you assume the insurer is the evil bad guy for denying a claim, you are assuming the hospital or clinic coded the procedure perfectly and didn't sandbag their billing at alll with unauthorized charges. That almost never happens on almost every bill.

I see your denied claims and raise you VA waiting lists and overall quality of care.

You are right in that I usually am precise with my language in legal issues; here, I did not say 'they've arrested the guilty party' or otherwise implying the legal conclusion of guilt.

Innocent until proven guilty, of course. And in this case, we may see jury nullification.
