Golden at-bat ?

There’s a potential rule change in MLB that would allow teams to send a chosen hitter to the plate at any point in the game. Not a pinch hitter, but a player in the game already could get an extra at bat at any time. Are you fuckin’ kidding?! Good god, just have clowns running around during the entire game. WTF is wrong with these idiots?!

Roger Clemens tweeted, “This can’t be real.”

If this goes through…

Calm down Sam.

I read somewhere that it’s an idea that someone put out there, apparently used sometimes by the Savannah Bananas, and MLB is not actually considering it. It would be like putting the Globtrotters in the NBA. This is the kind of thing that comes up in the offseason when folks need something to talk about besides Juan Soto’s next contract.

And I agree it would be pretty stupid, but actually along the lines of some of the other shit moves they’ve made. Take strategy out of the game so you can highlight your biggest stars. I still wish they’d dump the DH. But that will never happen.

The rule against the shift is the first that needs to go. Since players can't hit the other way, we are going to force you not to put your defenders where the batter is going to hit the ball.

Rack the DH comment.

The DH relieved managers of actually managing.

They’re pretty much just lineup writers.

Shohei Ohtani doesn’t play 2024 season without DH rule. Just sayin’

Charlie Finley thinks this is dumbest gimmick yet.
How about a salary cap/floor/revenue sharing,
and tv package that allows most fans to see their
team for free, or really, really cheap on tv/ streaming.
That will grow the sport much more and quicker than
stupid ideas.

That has got to be the dumbest suggestion I’ve heard in a while. What next, four foul balls and you’re out?

Is LIV golf coming up with these ideas?
