Wall Street is forward looking while his Main Street observations are completely about today. The tariffs haven’t even hit yet, or are just beginning to. The market is still up 80% of the past 5 years, and on par with what it looked like only a year ago.

When you buy something the receipt will tell you how much you paid in sales tax. The receipt won't tell you how much you paid in tariff costs.
