We started with the Kentucky Derby:

Then we had the Preakness:

After those races, here the standings in the T1B Triple Crown Challenge:

(1) Kluba $21.96
(2) HighPlainsGrifter $17.96
(3) The Seer $12.38
(4) Roach $11.20
(5) Roux $9.58
(6) Smackie Chan $7.74
(7) Rootbeer $4.00
(8) Peter Duncan $3.70
(9) 88BuckeyeGrad $2.80
(10) Biggie $2.40

And so on Saturday, we have the 157th running of the Belmont Stakes:

Interesting field with recent racing...

CRUDO registered with me this morning due to last night's over-served victimhood.

There was some discussion previously about changing the rules. Presently, the scoring is based upon three $2 bets, to win, place and show.

The proposed rule change would have the scoring based upon a total of nine bets, consisting of three "across the board" bets, where each horse is bet to win, place, and show.

The difference between the two rules is shown with Seer's and my picks for this race. Under the present rule, our scoring will be different based upon the outcome of the race. Under the proposed rule, however, our scoring will be identical regardless of the outcome of the race.

Because of that, it seems that we should stay with the present rule.

Belmont race day, race starts just after 7:00pm eastern.

After the incredible run in the Preakness, I think Journalism is the horse to beat. He had so much heart to win that race, in terms of predicting a winner it is hard to go against him. That said, some writers are saying other horses are more rested and ready.

But who I want to win is Baeza, because his half brother is in the Roux stable. I'd love to be at the track today.
