A Dreary Day in Sussville- RIP, Scritti Politti, Dennard

Post by Cuda »

Bitter Pittsburgher & whatforth

Some scenes from the Denntionary:
Bacefelice wrote:I'm not good with visuals but I'll direct the video. I see Keanu playing Scritti and Paula Abdul as the love interest. I see Rebel Without a Cause renactments and a Buddy Ebsen look-alike getting off the bus and asking for Lula Mae. During the Boom-Scrit bridge I envision Axl Rose shivering in a shallow grave while Slash throws mashed potatoes at his cold naked butt. With the boom, the spoon goes into the bowl and with the scrit the potatoes smack against Axl's butt.

Gonne be huge.

3:51 pm afternoon ponderings...
i'm up with a splitting headache and the need to get hopped up on aspirin. i didn't do all that much for the day because you don't want to do anything with a throbbing noggin.

e-mails were checked and apart from that, didn't do a lot today.

2:00 pm my ever changing moods
the finals are done. i got five days off before it's back to the grind again. i'm feeling a bit better now that i'm on drugs.can't say what they are,but they have been helpful.

anyway,TV shoot tonight...possibly followed by work at the arena tommorow afternoon.

life is good.

later folks...

8:07 pm tuesday night freeze club.
just one more day before the finals are here.

stuff is done, now to goof off before friday and the shoot.

things have been the same for me here and there. been on the forums and things are generally the same for me.

life has been quiet, just another single life for me...

later..
The shoot? Oh fuck.

6:20PM - true to life
i was supposed to be doing some TV work today, but there's this little thing called a snowstorm that wrecked just about everything.

but hey,@ least i get my $75 back from Doreen, but i won't be able to use her untill Spring...and she definitely is a well preserved 40something model to boot.

we're going to have the wraps ready and stuff like that done this sunday...which should mean that i can get the shows going and map out the next 4 shows.

i do have a new girl, that will be getting involved with the show-btw...more to come

apart from that, not much going on apart from the usual things.

things feel a lot better when you're not dealing with immature people and those who live vicariously thru message boards.i wonder what will happen when the boards go down.

oh well, can't feel too bad about that.

i'm looking to get the Avalon CD soon....best album that i liked in years...here's why

So it gets to seven
And I think of nothing
But living in darkness
And the diamond lady
Well she´s not telling
I don´t even know her name
It´s amazing
Times have changed
In days of old
Imagination´d leave you standing
Out in the could
Dancing city
Now you´re talking
But where´s your soul
-you´ve a thousand faces
I´ll never know
There are complications
And compensations
If you know the game
Agitated in xenon nightly
I´ll take you home again
Travel way downtown
In search of nothing
But the sky at night
And the diamond lady
Well she´s not talking
But that´s alright
So I turn the pages
And tell the story
From town to town
People tell me
Be determined
Poor country boy
Too much luck
Means too much trouble
Much time alone
But arm in arm
With my seaside diamond
I´ll soon be home

later-dennard
Feel
sunday evening. i should be enroute to washing the clothes tonight and all...kinda got waylaid as i have to look for a new girl to replace Amy for the show.

spent most of the morning soaking the tootsies in hot water. never realized that you had to walk when you're doing event staff stuff at the arena. but the arena is fab. here's hoping for more mid-sized shows there instead of trekking out to Beaver Falls or Latrobe.

apart from that,i'm just mapping out some things that need to be done for the week and all.

that's it for now/closing music "Feel"
(spent a good deal listening to Big Star and very adept about what happened to day at the game involving Maddox)

What in the world are you doing
You're driving me to ruin
The love that you've been stealing
Has given me a feeling
I feel like I'm dying
I'm never gonna live again
You just ain't been trying
It's getting very near the end
I feel like I'm dying
I feel like I'm dying

untill next time/ds

didn't fancy working with 70K drunks.
yeah,it'll be a ennui night
that's it in a nutshell...i hate my school
apart from that, nothing big has gone down-apart from the usual amount of tedium in my life.
getting to sleep earlier should take care of that.
gia was terffific as we were vibing with ideas. i was certainly smitten with the first of the new FIs in Debra. big and charming to say the least.
bites waking up at 5AM but you gotta have a professional veneer now
starting soon,i'm getting a new look. i mean,i'll be looking more like an adult than a dork with these specs
it's been an interesting fun time at Tard central with Sybill in Fall River and his girlfriend The Name Dropper getting banned from the place for going to far. it started as a fun release, but ended up like Lord Of The Flies.
my new muse Allison is coming soon, more later
ah,let's see here...classes,the usual rut. was supposed to interview the Exies but alas not to be.
key facts:
i was hopped up on caffinated Seven-Up for most of the night.
i had to do a speech on how to produce a TV show
i was a bit jittery
i had to find the BNS(Gunner wannabes) tape
i'm all hopped up to the new Ministry Of Sound compilation
i have TV equipment for 5 days
that's my day so far...
haven't dome much for the day other than answer e-mails and ponder some ideas.
valentines day is here...yuck. sent a card to jennifer.another night and i'll be sleeping.
more l8r
i'm doing everything in focus now.
the weekend is here.i'm tired as usual.lot more confident thanks to the specs of life.
sleep and work to be done this weekend.
back to reality, the need for some sun no less
my group is gaining focus now.
i said that i'd be back loggin in daily, but i'm still a lazy sod. anyway, had an eventful week where i'm getting new speccies
this week,life goes on
also did the demo session with new model Maria. she was teriffic btw. i'll use her sparingly for the show.
had a few tests today-most of the instructors were out with the sickness.
nothing big today...apart from the usual worries.
apart from that, the sleep and the music runs is what's been happening
maybe i was gone for most of the week.but i was. jury duty beckoned for most of the week.no major crimes, just a few cases.
can't wait for my new muse to come in on Thursday
left handed kind of day
erm
bad dreams, they can be so surreal when you think about it.
relaxed in a good frame of thought.
all hopped up on moltrins as usual
the classes, the trips, the flights of fancy. it's just has been a whirl for me today.
finally got the invoice that i need to fill out for the show. sounds quite important, but it has to be done.
He had tried to send resumes and samples of his work as a writer to other publications in Pittsburgh-with no success whatsoever
..loads of dirty work are ahead for me tommorow.
maybe it's me...i'm getting up there,i do need to wonder where do i go next
Right now i'm all hopped up on aspirins as i'm writing this
if i could,i'd tell you about the drama at TOT. i'm restricting myself to sports and music takes now and not dignifying anything certain people are saying about me. it's supposed to be a message board, but i swear people live there as if it's a virtual country mansion.
still having to get used to the large woof woofs at the place, but they come with the house
i do have to figure a way to make sure no one goes into my vittles
direction is something that i need get more of for life
you can only have so many ideas going before you melt down.
$200 doesn't suck at all.
there was a reason why i don't hit the IRC chats anymore and the midget, the cripple and the lardman gave me three good reasons why to steer clear from there. i don't know why they keep obsessing about me,but they do
it's cold and windy in pittsburgh. basically have the day off after slacking.
been sleeping in like a geezer though

i'm sure some asshole or other will wander in here and refute what i'm

scritti really did take too much shit from every angle in his life.

so, that best post sums it alllll up, i'm definitely silenced with that one.

silenced, and sad.

Agreed. I don't agree with Cuda on much of anything, but he done good there.
scritti really did take too much shit from every angle in his life.
What do you mean by that? I always got the feeling that Scritti didn't take shit from nobody. He certainly made a life of chosing the road less traveled.
so, that best post sums it alllll up, i'm definitely silenced with that one.

Just contemplating over here. What does it mean?

not sure if i did, but if i implied or my words somehow looked as though i thought/implied you were baggen on scritti, wasn't intended that way at all.

i got such a kick out of that list, remembering stuff he used to post.

BSmack - what does 'what' mean, cuda's list ?

how would i know ? probably something different to everyone.

to me, it was a good remembrance of stuff (words and saying, i guess)
that scritti used to say. it also made me remember how i even started
talking to him, it was me wandering in his threads and posting gay
retarded stuff like "good thing madonna posts here and all."
in his music news threads...

i made effort to annoy him, and he ended up being chummy,
sending music and stuff - out of that.

as for me thinking that he took a lot of crap in life -

my perception was always that he was fairly sensitive,
(especially compared to most of you guys) and
thin skinned - much like myself.

he took some of the board stuff to heart, no doubt.

plenty of others who communicated with him, have pointed this out
(do you read ToT? or Tardtrain?) and whatever.
he got really hurt/angry os some of zy's (and others) antics.

i don't articulate myself all that well sometimes. sorry.

back to the story -

RIP Scritti.

Always RACKED for the wacky weird europop that i spent
my spring listening to, courtesy of you.

No, I was refering to you saying that he "took a lot of crap.

I don't read Trolltrain or ToT very often. I tend to stick with one bb at a time.

As for Scritti's thin skin, you give the lie to that with your own recollection. He was able to reach out to you dispite your attempts to frustrate and annoy him. Never mind that this was a man who made a career of showing invisible women dancing to pop music while wearing sexy underwear on a public access show. He had more than a little game and was damn sure able to ignore what must have been more than a few sceptics along the way.

But, I'm nitpicking. I'll miss him. He's one of a few remaining links to a time in my bbs life that was much more intense than today. For that alone I will miss him.

That was one thing I never knew about him. And to my pornographic mind, that's a concept of insane genius.

Exactly. Everybody wishes they could pull it off and have the nerve to ask a girl "so, would you mind gyrating about and letting Pittsburgh view your camel toe?"
