There are a couple of new artists from her & NZ who have scored worldwide deals in the last couple of months

Missy Higgins who I'm sure a few of you who do the festivals would have herd of as she has been touring the states right now

Buzzer I think you would LOVE her album "The sound of white"
Download the tracks Scar & Special two
Play them a few times & tell me you aren't pulled in by her
If you can get a hold of a live version of Special two it will send goosebumps up your spine

Evermore have been doing showcases in the US & will hopefully release their album there soon

The album Dreams has been killing them over here
Download "It's too late" & "For one day"
They might be 3 Brothers but they are definately NO Hanson

One for Patsy, Scritti would have adored this track
The Bodyrockers
Pats download "I like the way" & don't tell me you aren't shaking your ass with your hands in the air by the end of it
Also Rouge Traders have a killer new track out with Voodo Child
Their remix of the old INXS track "Your one of my kind" is also a winner

Thirsty Merc are probably the new kings of Aussie Pub rock
They are less cliched than Jet & well worth a listen
My Reccomendation is the Track "My completeness"
The lead singer is also currently boffing Ozzie Osbournes eldest daughter Aimee (the pretty one)

& my favorite catchy tune of the week is Ben Lee's Claire Danes ex
little ditty "Catch my disease"

hi mj, thanks and will do.
you're the second person to reccomend her to me, i'll post back when
i've got the tunes and analyzed em accordingly

since scritti left us, nobody 'round here hooks me up anymore <sniffle>
so, props to you, i appreciate the reccomends.

(i've been meaning to bug you about this too, i'm semi-addicted to
this dumb show called McLeod's Daughters, which proclaims itself an
Ozzie soap - is it ? is it credible ? or some cheesy export that nobody
at all down under would watch, just wondering.)

ps: Nice thread, I'm always down with OZ music.

I still listen to TISM faithfully and *ducks* Silverchair too.
and a lil bit of spiderbait, too.
I also really dig Powderfinger, mostly for sentimental reasons though.

ps: i'm kind of a sucker for that little Ben Lee, myself.

Mcleod's daughters is HUGE here too Buzzer

I was addicted to it myself for quite a while till they killed off one of my favorite Characters & it just wasn't the same
Though I do watch an episode every now & again

I won't tell you who because they I don't know how far along you guys are with the series
But suffice to say every person who watched those episodes cried their little eyes out (even my dad)

Buzzer other Aussie Groups you might like are Magic Dirt
& Celibate Rifles

& for something a little laid back
Pete Murray His tracks "Beautiful" & "Feeler" are gorgeous
& one of my alltime favorite songs is "No Aphrodisiac"by The Whitlams & Think you would love it too

Australian music has been a bit dull lately.

The Whitlams are neat, but their last album is what, 3 years old now?

Evermore are dull. A couple of hit singles don't save the rest of it from being dull.

Thirsty Merc? No thanks.

It's really quite sad that the two Australian acts I've enjoyed lately are the Cat Empire and Downsyde.

Does Ben Folds count as an Australian yet? His new album was quite swell.
