The Joe Morgan is an idiot thread

During Monday's broadcast against the Sox, Morgan thought he was going to "get over" on Francona. During the "gay-assed interview with the manager between innings" portion, he repeatedly questioned why Varitek wasn't in the line-up. "Is he sick, is he hurting..." Francona repeatedly explained to him that Mirabelli is Wakefield's personal catcher and always catches him. Morgan noted that Mirabelli hasn't caught Wake in the last 6 weeks... what gives? Are you lying to me?

I wanted to go through the TV screen and wring that idiot's neck. Dude... who does your research for you? MIRABELLI is Wake's personal catcher. MIRABELLI HAS BEEN ON THE DL FOR THE LAST 6 WEEKS!!!! That's why he hasn't caught him. Good gawd!! Fuck Morgan for not doing his homework. And DOUBLE FUCK ESPN for letting him ask those stupid questions. Most companies have some sort of quality control process that is supposed to catch these things. What were ESPN and Morgan thinking??

Then to top it off, Morgan was disappointed later because he didn't get to ask Francona about Pedro. Perhaps if you didn't waste 3 minutes on a NON-STORY, you would have been able to drop your other bomb,"Terry... do you miss Pedro??"

Oh btw -- Wakefield had like a 6.5 ERA during his time with 'Tek. The day Mirabelli comes off the DL, dude pitches a gem. Coincidence, Joe Morgan???? I think not. Way to go, Bristol...

Mirabelli really helps frame that knuckler? Does Veritek's 3 dropped balls lead to an extra three runs? I doubt a catcher has much to do with the success of a knuckle that neither he nor the pitcher have much control over.

Duly noted Bace... The Idiot said the same thing. You can't argue with the numbers, though. There's quite a disparity in Wake's success as it relates to who is behind the plate... no not Ed Montague... the other guy.

I know I "drive better" when I take my non-winter vehicle to work as opposed to the old Bronco. Heck, the truck even has 4WD and probably "sticks better" if faced with similar road conditions than the Hot Rod. The thing is... I feel much more comfortable in the Cobra.

Point given.

You'd think Varitek's bat might at least help the man with half a run of support extra per game.

I knew that, and I'm willing to bet that Morgan gets to watch a lot more ball than I do.

And the difference is often a lot more than 3 dropped pitches. Maddog used to pitch better with Eddie Whatshisname behind the plate, too. Sometime, it inexplicably works that way.

It's only because he he was doing Griffey's game. That big ass under bite smile seems that it could accomodate both Griff's and Barroid's dicks. Can't wait for a Cin/SF ESPN game

Pitching is as much mental as it is physical. If a P doesnt have the confidence that the C can handle his pitches, then that sets into the P's dome. So, yes, a C can influence the success of a P
