Not going to win 120 games this year (nice biting on the obvious troll job, MLB Forum tards  ) but they havent been out of first place since day 1 of the season, and are looking like the untoppable badasses I knew they'd be.

RACK the eventual world champion Angles you bitches!

The Angels certainly looked good watching all the balls fly out over their heads yesterday.

Would it have killed Woods to tatoo Mench after his second bomb? Hell, they were only down 13 at that point.

Watch out for the A's in that division. Same old, same old.

When the Angels faulter, here comes the Rangers, baby.

The Rangers pitching staff led by Kenny "Cry like a little bitch and attack a cameraman because they won't give me a new contract at 40" Rogers?

Santana still needs time at AAA, I'm sure the Angels will be in the market for another arm for the stretch run.

Beatdown? If Torre could manage, then the Yankees would have aken 3 of 4 games. As bad as Johnson's back is, there was no reason to take him out of that game since he was dominating.

The Angels are solid and they should win the AL this season, but don't count the Yankees, or Oakland, out of it.

THat would be Cashman/Steinbrenner. I'm sure Joe has some input on it as well. Johnson looked very good last night.

Unrack Scioscia for dragging out that piece of SHIT Kevin Gregg and blowing a fucking lead today. Piss poor bullpen management today. 2/3rds of an inning each for Yan, Donnelly and Shields and then 1 inning for Peralta?

Send that piece of shit Gregg and his 7.02 ERA (don't care if he had 4 K's, he still lost) back to Salt Lake.

Exactly.

What should've been an easy sweep of the Yanks ended up being a fucking disaster. And Mike, being an ex-catcher, Should've known to take K-Rod OUT when he fucking walked in the first run. Then the second. It was obvious that he didnt have it.

Fucking idiot.

Then there's yesterdays abortion. Where do I begin on this one? Well, exactly where i'll end-Our manager. Will somebody tell this fat bitch that the A's are directly on our ass-and that you play to fucking WIN?!?

Hey muchobulls-you want to see BAD fucking managing at its finest? Look no further than this past weekend.

Leave it to an Ex-Dodger to fuck everything up...................

Yeah, we completely missed that one. We also missed that faggot hick Erstad doing his best bill buckner imitation. Regardless, if you dont think that Mike lost both those fucking games from bad decision making, then you dont know or watch baseball.

Fucking idiot.

I just have one thing to say..... who the hell anointed the Angels the "best bullpen in the league"? I was fully expecting the Jays, who have a mediocre pen at best, to keel over and die in both of those extra inning games yet it was the "best bullpen in the league" that did just that. God, it's all I heard about going into the series and I'm sick of hearing it because if it was true, the Jays would have lost the series instead of sweeping it. Not to mention the Angels offence looked pathetically bad against the Jays' weakened staff but that's another matter entirely.

MASTER OF THE OBVIOUS wrote:I think their turn around is more unbelievable than The Yankees recovery.
Why is that? Is it because the Yankees were never 15 games under .500 or is it because the A's also have a better record as of the time of this post? Or maybe it's because the A's don't have a 200 million dollar payroll and weren't expected to do shit after losing 2/3rd of the Big Three?

Cry and complain but he's still the second most talented closer in baseball behind Lidge. But that was a sad play...

I don't know as much about the AL guys, but Cardsfan knows full well how much Lidge kicks ass.

Too bad the Astros can never get to him when playing the cards.

Yup.

I was going to bump this thread yesterday after watching our fucking team melt like pussies after having a nice lead in a game barry zito pitched in-but I thought it best to wait until this series was over.

Its time for Mikey Manager to light a fire under these sloppy fucks-and for god's sake, at ALL costs keep Gary disarcina, mark langston, and the entire '95 fucking chernobyl Angel lineup as far away from the stadium as possible.

It definitely looks like its going to come down to the last week in our division.....

Good or Bad, I love my teams. Seeing this turn around by the A's and absolutely horrible play and horrible managerial decisions by My Angels is making my fucking head spin.

They need to get it together, and FAST-That, and we need to trade Erstad for a fucking Snickers bar when the season is over. What a piece of overrated shit.

Cabrerra is just a fucking joke-The idiot owner paid 5 million dollars MORE to downgrade the position in the offseason......if he would've spent half the fucking attention on players that he did changing the fucking name of the team to something irrelevant, we would've kept Eck.

Cant say it hasnt been exciting-I just hope they pull it together and get thier heads on straight quickly.

I used to think Rozy knew something about baseball.

"The A's?"

Newsflash, dude -- the A's aren't just on a tear, they're on one of the meanest tears in the history of the game. Just thought I'd point that out, since most of you seem to be missing that point.

And you list #1 and #2 best closers....incorrectly? Since I'm pretty fucking sure there's a guy in The Bronx who is laughing at your expense as he counts down the days until his first-ballot induction.

Posted: Fri Aug 12, 2005 6:44 pm

Rozy knows that the amazing tear the Lastros are on is only bested by the A's. He's got something else up his sleeve.

Right, Rozy?

The amazing thing about the tear the A's are on is that their team sucks. Their lineup sucks, their pitching is decent, and their bullpen sucks.

We are not going to draw comparisons to the run the Stros made last year and the run they are on this year, right?

I mean seriously. Zito, Harden, Haren and Street......or Oswalt, Clemens, Pettitte, and Lidge.

Anyhoo, props to Rivera on a great HOF career. You might want to go back and read past comments I've made, Dines, before going down that road. You know I respect the accomplishments. Today, August the 12th of the year 2005, Brad Lidge is the most talented closer in baseball. Followed closely by K-Rod. That's taking nothing away from Rivera though you will interpret it as such.

rozy wrote:Followed closely by K-Rod.
Follow that ball, follow that ball, follow that OOOOPS!

And wha? The A's have broken all-time records for midseason streaks sdo far, so OBVIOUSLY it eclipses(sup Py) anything the Stros have EVER done....OBVIOUSLY. But hey, don't let math stop you or anything.

Fucking K-rod blows another save, wasting a great effort by a rookie pitcher in his first MLB start (Saunders).

The bully is pissing me off....no one seems to be doing well. From shitty Kevin Gregg to K-rod.

K-Rod didn't even give the Blue Jays a chance to squander the opportunity to tie.... he WALKED in the tying run. Closers shouldn't be giving up walks in the first place, never mind bases-loaded walks. K-Rod has done nothing but suck out loud recently. When the Angels bullpen is good, it's very very good. When it's bad it's horrid. Although I'm pleasantly surprised that the Jays managed to win a game pitched in most part by Scott Downs and Brandon League because both were atrocious earlier in the season.

As of the time of your post, I believe Mo' had the best closer stats. He may still even with the horrible week he had (his ERA rose a half point to 1.4) as he blew a few saves. Still... hands down... the best in baseball. Screw your "talent"... let's go with results. Not to mention K-Rod has looked rather mortal this year. People have discovered that he's the El fucking Duque of closers. Don't swing at anything (no matter how tempting) and eventually he'll walk you.

Not concerned.....yet. We've still only lost 2 series since June. And yes, I am WELL aware that one of those was a sweep by the Cards.

Where the hell did the Phillies come from?

Nah, the Fish are still the greatest long term threat.
