Wait, what's wrong with every kid plays? They're fucking 8 years old. let them all play, let them feel good about themselves before idiotic parents start pusing them and burning them out before they sprout their first pubic hair.

Lax is correct. It is freaking T-ball! Little league is supposed to be about kids having fun and learning fundamentals. Kids are getting their arms trashed left and right nowadays because they have overly-competitive parents/coaches having them throw way too much(sometimes year-round) with pitches their young joints just can't handle yet.
The coach should've just put the kid where he'll field the least and cheat the center fielder over a bit to cover for him. If the opposing t-ball coach has any conscience he'll have his guys hit away from the special-ed kid anyway.
