If any of you fuckers have a link to a DVD of this?

Saw it at the theater, in 1980, and I'm still waiting for it on DVD. :x

In.

Best concert I ever saw was "For those about to Rock Tour."

There is nothing like that song with those 2 big ass fucking cannons going off for an encore.

Never saw AC/DC live, though I had the chance in high school to check them out at the old HemisFair Arena, in San Antonio for the "Back in Black" tour ... but my parents wouldn't let me go. I'll post a story about "best concert" later, but for now I will say, it involved Pink Floyd, at Arrowhead.

Radio,

I have heard many rumors about a Let There Be Rock DVD for years now. Since I have yet to see it I doubt you will see it for a while. I would anticipate that if AC/DC has another CD forthcoming that a Live CD will follow the tour. They are about due for a live CD.

KC,

The cannons are awesome. Last time I saw them there were at least 6 cannons behind the boys.

The year I saw them, think it was '82, the final encore was the cannons coming out of the floor on huge risers.

The first shot was deafening. I was 12 rows or so back from the stage and the shear concusion of the blasts seemed to push the whole crowd back a half step.

--------------

RF - Floyd and Zep were the two I really wished I'd seen.

Looking forward to your tale.

A friend of mine got to see Zep when he went to visit some family in Germany in '79, just a few months before Bonham died. He saw them in Munich at the Olympic Stadium (?). This was when we were freshmen in high school.

Years later, I saw him when I lived in Lawrence, and he stopped in town while on business. We went to Free State Brewery to have some brews and get caught up and I remember him telling me it was still the best show he had ever seen.

Beatin Around The Bush is a very underrated song.

That is a pretty funny story about surprising the kids like that. Last time they toured there was a guy about 10 rows in front of me who had his kid (couldn't have been older than 7 or 8) on his shoulders with these huge headphones on to reduce the sound. I am not sure they helped much, but the kid as having a good time.

Are the BBC sessions the you are referring to in Bonfire set? That Atlantic studio recording CD in there is awesome.

They are long overdue to come out with a new CD and a tour.

My first date with my wife was AC/DC. I think it was the who made who tour. Anyways, we saw them religiously until about '98 when we showed up we found out they weren't serving alcohol because some friend of the band had died in a DWI or some shit. It was a very akward concert having an extra free hand. Had we known, we would have prefunctioned like mothers, but we were running late and only had a few road sodas on the way to the arena.

I hear they are back to selling brew, and the OL & I are planning to see them next stop in Houston.

Still one of the best touring bands I've ever seen.

Absolute best show was Iron Maiden back in the day. maybe 86 or 87? Back when huge stage shows were all the rage.

Black Sabbath was another that left my jaw on the floor.

I've always been a huge live rock concert guy. Love it!

For the longest time, I didn't even know those cats were Australian. Originally, I thought that were American and then I thought they were British after I heard the lead singer talk during an interview.

Comparing them AC/DC isn't even fair. I don't think I could hear Bon or Brian singing the ballads that Jet does. I wish they would do more stuff like Roll Over DJ, Cold Hard Bitch and Are You Gonna Be My Girl and go away from the accoustic and piano stuff.
