Reasons why we won't stop an attack

#1. Political correctness. Right now, The NYC subway police are instituting "Random" checks of passengers, but they promised not to racially profile anyone, because it is against policy.
Against policy? How many middle aged grandmothers, whites, asians, and children of non arab descent have gone the suicide bomb route lately? The answer is NONE. I'd say that NOT profiling will be the primary reason we don't get the next subway or suicide bomber in the US. It won't be until after it happens and ALL of the bombers turn out to be arabs that street justice will take over where our fucked up PC Society failed. Even the Muslims who are innocent should agree, as it protects their safety, too. Better 5 minutes of inconvenience than to be taken home in a plastic ziplock bag.
#2. Panic. RIGHT NOW in London, the police shot and killed the wrong man, thinking when he ran and ignored warnings to stop, he had a bomb. They shot him 5 times in the head.
When the above scenario happens here in the US, there will be lawsuits, protests, and the police will be far more hesitant to act, thus opening the door for suicide bombers to do so as they please. It does not get more fucked up than that.
Unfortunately we will need more tragedy to happen here in the US before anything real is done to stop it from happening.
