High leg kick here as a 17 year old, where all you get is the back of his leg says (Sayers) with more muscle and speed...
He only avg'd ...
9 yrds a carry that year... at 17....
The Miami Hurricane players, called him the best they've ever seen...

Al Gore has a better chance of making the Pro Football HOF than Frank does.

Wasn't Gore the guy that couldn't beat out Clinton Portis at Miami?

Don't know about that Paul... Barlow blew monkey nuts last year... 15 games started- 800 some rushing yards, only 7 TD's...
Unless he reverts back to his form of a couple years ago- Gore could most certainly overtake him. But that may spur him on to do better- unlike most Chiefs fans- not everyone likes a young stud breathing heavy down the back of the necks.

You mean when Gore was a true freshman, and Portis was in his last year at Miami...
Frank Gore
2001 (FRESHMAN):
Rushed for 562 yards on just 62 carries, averaging 9.1 yards per carry, the second-best per-carry average in Miami history...became the top reserve behind starter Clinton Portis as the season progressed...compiled the third-best rushing yardage total ever by a UM freshman, second-best ever by a true freshman... rushed for more than 100 yards in two games (West Virginia and Syracuse)...rushed for 15 yards on six carries in his Miami debut in the season opener at Penn State...averaged 13 yards per carry, rushing six times for 78 yards and one touchdown, against Rutgers...gained 18 yards on four attempts at Pittsburgh...rushed three times for 19 yards against Troy State...
averaged 20.7 yards per attempt in the win over West Virginia, captivating a national television audience with 124 yards and two touchdowns on just six carries...averaged 7.8 yards per carry in the win over Temple as he rushed for 86 yards on 11 carries with one touchdown...
averaged 13.9 yards per attempt against Syracuse, rushing 11 times for 153 yards, including a season-best 77-yard run (the longest Miami rushing play of the season)...gained 19 yards on just four carries in the win at Virginia Tech...rushed twice for three yards in Miami's 37-14 Rose Bowl victory over Nebraska.
Clinton Portis by the way, is averaging around 1,500 yrds a season in the NFL, and all the Hurricane player's say Gore was the best back they've seen at the school...

Did they say that before or after he tore up his knee?
Look I can sort of respect your enthusiasm and for the record I think Gore was an excellent 4th round gamble but how about letting him take the field in a preseason game before predicting greatness?
You're getting way ahead of yourself here.

They said that after, and probably before, but I'm going with what the players remembered of him.
It takes a good two years to get over an injury like that.

Actually, I'm just going with what the players are saying and putting the picture together.
When you have 49er veteran Pro-Bowlers like Julian Petersen, and Bryant Young say how they were blown away by how explosive he was in practice and Ken Dorsey saying that's the old Frank Gore....
How can you not put the picture together.
A better back than Willis McGhee, and Clinton Portis???
That's some high praise... it's just to bad 4/5th's of the Niners starting OL is out with some minor injurys and wont play in the Raider game.

I think now that he is healthy, people will see what a great back he really is, but I am afraid the best Frank Gore we will never know.

Exactlty. Gore has suffered not one, but two significant knee injuries during his college career. He has definite talent, but his performance at the combine was less than impressive, his receiving skills are questionable, and his ability to block and assist the passing game is nothing less than suspect.
Oh & I almost forgot, that probbably means he'll be the starter in SF.

Yep,
the Niners got the steal of the draft...
In just one series...

CAR YDS AVG TD LG
F. Gore 3 27 9.0 0 16
Back to his old form of 9 yards a carry...

Your out in Boner Springs at a days in Melvin.
What in the fuck have you seen in KC?
Nada except fields of dirt, an empty Sandstone and a pic of some hottie you scavaged off a modeling site.
Dude, get out of the Days Inn and check some shit out.
I've got the perfect idea, and you could drum up some business for your booth.
Put on your Men in tights get up and head down to the liberty memorial.
It's down by Hall's crown center. Go over by the monument and dangle your chimes. When some dude walks up tell him you can help fill his life with sweet sounds with only a little blow.
You'll be the Bell of the Ball.
I'd suggest some shit that men actually do 'round here, but I'm sure you'd be bored.

bro, i work w/ m2. i've lived in kc for the last five years and i go to umkc.
i only have one question-are you attempting to claim kc has a culture? we killed jazz, our idea of art is four radio towers on top of a convention center, and our dipshit mayor's building an arena for a team that doesn't fucking exist.
quit playing the part of the pro-amendment 2 voting cowtown hick. when you say get out, follow your own advice and check out some cities not next door to a state prohibiting science in school and accept some constructive critism. kc sucks. people who actually live here know that.
also, don't talk shit on laura. she's sweet, smart, and will have a nice career once she leaves this shithole of misery.

Attempts Yards Average TDs Long
127 608 4.8 3 72
Receptions Yards Average
15 131 8.7
* Led the Niners in rushing (608 yards)
* Finished 1st in rookie yards per average (4.9)
* 3rd in rookie rushing yards (C. Williams and R. Brown).
Gore only started 3 games this year... and played behind, perhaps the worst O Line in NFL History!
I'd say I nailed it!
Now lets take a look at
Cryin Ryan's pick of Derrick Johnson being the MVP...

Gore finished the season well and I guess that's a good thing since you're not getting Reggie Bush. Who do the 49ers draft? Hawk? Ferguson?

I think both of them will be gone by the 7th or 8th pick. I'd be happy with either if they were still around... if not, maybe M. Lewis from UCLA. We need someone at tight end that can stay injury free, and that's not Eric Johnson.

You didn't nail shit bozo. Gore is a serviceable back and could be a good RB for the Niners..but H of F? Get back to us all after his career is over. 600+ yards and 108 of them were against the worst team in the league aka Texans? Go look at Emmitt's numbers his rookie year...900+ yds..11 TD's and Dallas wasn't shit then either. The chances of him even playing long enuff to merit consideration are slim...now go back and edit your original post again and tell us you predicted Roger Staubach, Red Grange, Pocahontas, whomever...no one gives a shit. Though your posts are entertaining...in a comical sense.

Hey, shit for brains... can you read to save your life???
Being that you're a
Southerner... I guess we can let the reading/comprehension slide.
Frank Gore...
3 starts for
600+ yards.
Emmitt Smith...
16 starts for
900+ yards.
Case Closed

So Gore ought to be good for around 3200 rushing yards next season, eh m2l? Or is he even going to beat out the guy who couldn't beat out Pittman after he shredded his knee
twice?
Hall of Fame. :norolleyesbigenough:
I see you didn't bump your Alex Smith thread, m2l. Throwing a touchdown every eleven interceptions will have a tendency to do that to your bandwagon riders, though.

One thing m2 forgets is that Gore splits the carries with either Hicks or Barlow .
I'd like to see Gore be more like Roger Craig or even Garrison Hearst before I call him a HOF .
