QB Issues at Kal? Say it ain't so!

A Kal-homer Web Site wrote: At the end of most practices this preseason, Cal head coach Jeff Tedford comes off the field and quickly declares that his quarterbacks "learned a lot today." He largely has to repeat this mantra because with two weeks of practice down and two weeks remaining until the 2005 season begins, he has already faced one question too many times—what's wrong with Joe Ayoob?

Surely, the transfer for the City College of San Francisco (CCSF), yet to take a Division I snap has not been impressive in fall camp. His arm-strength, a known weakness when he came to Berkeley, has appeared less than spectacular. In Tedford's complex offense, he has also seemed to have trouble hitting even open wide receivers.

After two years of seeing Aaron Rodgers' consistently flawless practice performances, it is alarmingly to writers and spectators watching wobbly ducks and overthrown screen passes—especially from someone who many expected to immediately fill Rodgers' shoes.

But there is clearly no reason to panic. The search for the next Cal quarterback has just begun. Let's call this week three of ten.

Dont worry. Tedford will turn him into an overrated future 1st Round pick in no time.

take away Tedfords 5 yard out route and Kals offense has nothing. With Aboobs arm, 5 yard outs will be headed the other direction

I'm hardly concerned about the qb situation this early in the season.

Just wait til U$C gets a taste of "Perfect 10"...

and $C fan thinks giving up over 100 yards to Arrignton last year sucked...

Lynch is better!

Perfect 10

Frisco, can I get a Spin Zone rating please?

m2ool, you do realize that without a credible passing game the running game suffers. You know this, right?

Like I said, I'm not that concerned about the qb's right now. Nate was one of the most highly recruited qb's in the country coming out of high school and has a year under his belt. Joe was the top JC player in the country last year. With DJ, and L. Hawkins running routes the passing game will be fine.

Tedford thinks this could be the best team he's ever had.

They'll be fine come Oct.

A year under his belt? Holding Rogers' jock strap?

Tedford recruits Ayroob out of a JC and he can't even hit a slant pattern or a screen in practice and you're "not conerend about the qb's" ?

Pass me some of that KoolAid. Kal will drop two games before they drop the one against us.
