Respect and recognize, haters.
Amazing how a seventeen point deficit will tend to shift you away from the running game. But they have held the JEST scoreless to this point, so props are deserved there.

Pennington is the Chiefs best Defensive player.

It's too early for the JEST to go away from the running game, Red.
As a TrINT Green owner, I hope it's not too early for the chefs to go away from the passing game.

KC Paul.

Along with my boss bitching Friday, , your opening day myopia about the Chiefs is just another sign that my life is getting back to normal after Katrina.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Does this mean we will get the power ranking posted 2 seconds after the Chiefs game from now on like 2 years ago?

Of course proclaiming yourself #1.

Yep, this is the greatest Chief team of all-time. You're the best....blah, blah, blah. My gawd someone put him out of his misery.

Restraint has never been overrated.

It's not like we don't have enough M2s in the forum already.

Still ... rack the Chiefies.

Over 300 yards passing again. Almost 400 TOTAL yards(389). I see a Steelers-like Dynasty on the way in KC. Just defensive genius at work in the Midwest. Watch out everyone.

Considering they went prevent midway through the third quarter, I wouldn't place too much empahsis on those passing yardages, Trix.

Hate all you want on the KC folk, but it was a good win and a statement for the defense.

<-- cautiously optomistic

Yea, um, I don't think there was too much doubt that The Jet offense was going to accomplish much opening week in KC. I didn't get to see it but uh, you could call it blind. Let's see what else they got.

C-Mart will miss LJ greatly throughout this year.

Props to the Cheifs on a good game.

The Jets' season is officially over.

Of course, the fact it took them overtime to put the Dolts out of their misery in last year's playoffs shows how soft they are.

They didn't do shit to win that game. Kaeding choked it away.
Exactly.

Just proving they were overrated and soft, and now are officialy done.

Yeah.

And maybe I'm all wrong about it being the same old 'D'.

But they're going to have to do more than pile on a bunch of dysfunctional underachievers like the Jets to prove it.

Questions:

How are Sims and Surtain....?

Comments:

Didn't see the game, but it appears to have been a real nice performance by the KC defense.

I'm guessing it was a combination of things.

1. Chief D sacking up
2. Chief D playing from the lead
3. Jest ineptitude (7 fumbles...?!?!?)

KC gave up a lot of yards, but as orc said, those numbers don't mean a whole hell of a lot when you're playing with a big lead and playing a very "soft" defense because of it.

Paul's talking out his ass per norm, but if I'm Chief fan and my defense nearly tosses a shutout I'm damn well geeked about that.

See ya next Sunday, boys.

This JUST in: the JEST were a PLAYOFF TEAM last year
Thanks for the update.

Neck, I mean this sincerely- GLAD TO HEAR FROM YOU, MAN. Hope you got out of MS OK, and that you didn't lose everything you own down there. Doesn't make a SHIT who won or lost today (or any other day)....it's GREAT to hear one of our own made it out of Katrina alive.

Hey, if hopping on this board makes things a LITTLE bit better for ya, then that's awesome. :D
Thanks bro. I lost my place..my boat. My office transferred all ops to our Houston office..so I moved to TX for awhile. I will get back on my feet...glad to be back on board.

Glad you still have a job to help you build everything back... there's a lot of people that can't even go to work to help forget about that mess.

Stay safe.

Not to piss on your parade there Paul, but it's one game, and when the Chefs defense is able to stop an offense not named the Jets we'll be impressed.

Wow. That was the perverbial big brother taking younger brother out back and beating the holy crap outta him. That should put that "the Chiefs are the best team in the AFC" talk from Chef fan to rest for a while.

Way to lay an egg on national TV Chefs!

There ya go, Paul.

Last week your 'defensive rookie of the year' bit on Fake's bootleg bullcrap over and over x infinity.

This week your secondary apparently took the day off.

I got other 'questions' but I'll leave it at that.

Pretty sure that's enough for now.

Ask yourselves this, PatsieFan- if Beisel wasn't wanted by the Chiefs, then why did Homeless Guy POSSIBLY think he was getting a good LB when he signed him?

If we went by that thinking then Mike Vrabel never would have been here. One mans trash is another mans treasure. Unfortunently this appraiser says Beisel is trash.......

And the odds of it ever dropping off of page one don't look to good either.

Not exactly. The Steelers had a bunch of good linebackers. Vrabel got caught in a numbers game and the Pats saw a way too work him into their scheme. On the other hand, the Chiefs linebackking corps has not had any talent since Derrick Thomas decided to quit breathing cold turkey. If a guy like Beisel couldn't crack the Chiefs linebacking corps, that most likely means he sucks.

Donnie Edwards being the notable exception prior to Derrick Johnson's arrival.

Marvcus* Patton also had... er... one good year for KC.

* That's not how you spell Marcus, Marvcus.
