tipped pass...

this play happened on sunday.. the browns QB throws a pass it hits the Umpire, and is popped into the air. it is then caught by an O-lineman who is promptly tackled. Why is this a penalty? I dont get it. If the Bengals D-Lineman catches the ball its a int. but if the O-Line man catches the ball its a penalty? WTF? thats just stupid. if the ball is tipped, it should be a live ball and any one nomatter what number is on the front of the jersey should be able to catch it and advance it if nessasary.

why is this a rule?

it's all about the # on the back of the jersey :D
the umpire is part of the field, thus illegal touching

If the Brownies had actually shown up to play yesterday maybe that play would have actually affected the outcome of the game. :lol:
