Which team will it be this year?

Since the introduction of the BCS, every year there seems to be a bridesmaid, a team who lost early on but is the team that "is now playing better than anyone out there".

Last year, it was Cal (lost to USC), the year before it was USC (lost to Cal), the year before that Miami/OSU was legit, and the year before that it was Oregon (lost to Stanford) and so on.

When I started this thread, I wasn't thinking this was a Pac 10 thing. You DO remember though the arguments we had in here from these schools' fans that their teams "were playing better than anyone at that time of year".

SO who is it going to be this year? Which team will have an early loss but then run the table and claim they deserve to be i the BCS title game?

I'd say A&M , but no way will we run the table, not with the defense I saw 2 weeks ago. OU is a distinct possibility, but you got to be able to have one more dimension than just a single RB. I can see Iowa definitely running the table with the early loss and their obnoxious fan base surely would be calling for a title game as Big 10 champs. Then there's Miami who can definitely win out as well.

I'm going with Iowa. Who's your pick? I'd say after this weekend, no one else can qualify for this argument.

OU fan coming correct is good to see. Although I doubt you wont be in the Top 5 next year. Stoops is too good a coach.

I'm gonna go with Miami. The botched 3 kicks on their way to handing that game to FSU. Wright will mature and with weapons like Hester, Olsen, Jones, etc., that team will be very good by year end.

Miami is a good pick.
tOSU is another.
Iowa not likely.
Michigan not likely.

From what I've seen of the Big10 right now I'd have to say the Buckeyes.

Frisco, A&M defense = 17 missed tackles = disappontment. However, old men who sit in front of gas stations that serve sliced BBQ sandwiches on white bread say that the biggest improvement in a football team happens between the first and second games. Fox Sports is televising the SMU match at 11:30 am.

Now for my pick: Virginia Tech. I think Va-Tech will screw everything BCS up (a redundancy, I know, BtH) by going undefeated. I think they've already played their most difficult game.

The problem with picking Miami is that after Sept. 24th, they're going to have two losses.

I'll go with tOSU.

Miami isn't finishing the season with one loss unless the Virginia Tech game on 11/5 gets cancelled.

tOSU runs the table from here on out.

Miami Fan - January 2006

2000 - We should have been in the championship game instead of FSU. We won the championship.

2001 - We did win the championship! Two in a row (really)!

2002 - PI was BULLSHIT! 3 in a row baby!

2005 - Texas did not deserve to be there. We beat a MUCH better team in the conference championship. The Big XII was down this year. We would have murdered USC. Can you say DYNASTY?!?!
