doubt that there were some incidents. Hell when 200,000 some odd
people get together there are bound to be a few assholes in the bunch.
but this fucking bullshit Ive been hearing over the past week is fucking
funny as shit. you'd think Texans never leave their house except to go to
church. Ive read about as much as I can take. Ive read where OSU fan
insulted and cursed at little kids. (which BTW is un-fucking-acceptable)

riviting experience. and is a lot of fun if you realize that the fans there
love their team and hate to see them lose.

I guess what Im trying to say is that if you go to another teams house.
especially one where the game has had the build up as long as this one
has, and you wear the opposite team colors, expect to see tshirts like the
one above. (which i think is pretty tame from what Ive seen of Texas/OU
shirts, something about "You cant spell C*CKS*CKER with out OU") I
mean get a fucking clue.

The best team that saturday won the game. What do you want. for some
fucking reason the president of OSU is appologizing? WTF? fuck that! you
cant take some ribbing from the other team (at their house BTW) then
you shouldnt have driven your mobile home 16 fucking hours to see the
game.

now dont get me started on the dumbass OSU fans that for some fucked
up reason thought it was ok to write Hamby a couple of emails saying he
cost us the game

I in no way condone anything people did/have done...but I knew of at least 12 people who were at the game an on the grounds and did not witness anything deragatory or physical. Did things happen? I am sure of it...but big games and what not people are hyped...I challenge anyone to go to a Wisconsin game (from the horror stories I have heard) a WVU game ( a co-worker had batteries thrown at him), or hell a Miami/FSU game - I was at the Orange Bowl 2 years ago and Miami fans are the fucking worst...


I heard the tOSU band played the Texas fight song after the game...it is too bad that the tradition, excellence and above all the sportsmanship by both the players, coaches and fans had to be ruined by 1% of the fan base that are idiots...

From what I have read it ws pretty bad. The worst I have ever seen was OU fan in 2000. I think that I have written about it before. I seriuosly doubt that it was isolated incidents. If OSU comes to Austin and there are some Texas fans that throw shit at people, start fights, attack co-eds, drop f-bombs on families, do you think that OSU fan wouldn't say anything? :roll:

I think it is a combination of a few things. We heard how great and gracious the OSU fans were from the media. Michigan fan told us different. I think that most Texas fans went in believing the media. When you have tons of alumni that travel and a good amount get the same treatment, there is going to be complaints. Would I have written a letter? Probably not. That is their right as an American. But when the president of your school said they saw the problems and appologized for what happened, that speaks volumes. I also read where the ushers from the Texas section complimented our fans and said they were the best they had witnessed. I have also read that from many OSU baords and media outlets. So who do you believe?

tickets and cant get them. and they get to watch 10,000 of the other teams

hey i have sat next to michigan fan at tOSU/scUM and had a good natured trash talking battle, but never made it personal and never made it to the point where tempers started flaring...

i to am very passionate about Buckeye Football...in the 5 years I was there I saw many a great game and rode the roller coaster of great seasons and season ending losses and the passion that the elite universities bring to the table is outstanding...


i am one of those alumni that usually gets shitty tickets...although last year I won the lottery for scUM tickets and was able to attend. yes tickets are hard to come by and especially for big games. like every other major university passion, pride, and tradition make up the fabric of why most of us cheer for the teams we do (outside of possibly attending said school and or living in the region)...

harv - the internet is a big place and I am sure there were incidents...but can you honestly sit there and say that tOSU fan wouldn't say something? i mean if the things that Texas fan portray happened then the whole night was a belligerent, drunken, mess...from what I saw and heard it was a show of class on the field and off...i mean the tOSU band played Eyes Of Texas for crying out loud (or whatever the Texas fight song is)...shit they play the Victors when scUM comes into town...my point is next year don't kid yourself into thinking that Texas fan is so holier than thou that us Buckeyes won't take shit from them...my point is smack talk and what not is one thing...getting beer thrown at you and spit on is another and I don't condone that...

I'd say the same thing about Texas Fan every year up until then... and then one year after. Since 2001, though, they've been strangely quiet around OU fans in Dallas. I'm sure that they'll back to their "mouthy-as-fuck, in-the-wrong-face" form again this year though...

...at least until after the game. I love Saturday nights in the West End after the game lately. No orange in sight... Texas fans may be taking their lumps after the game, but they're having to drive back to Austin to get to them, I suppose.

I am all about a little good smack talk. Throwing shit and trying to start fights are another. I will say that almost all OSU fans I know are pretty level headed. There are always going to be a group of idiots. We have plenty at Texas. I just hate that the bad apples have to have an affect on what was a great game.

I look forward to next year and hope that OSU fans will travel to Austin for a truly great game day experience.

Despite all the problems I think it has been completely blown out of proportion by the media. Once Kirk H got hold of it, it garnered national attention.

BTW that wasn't the worse shirt I saw on TV, I saw a few people wearing some with rather vulger ones (well vulgar for the blue hairs).

I think part of the problem was that the game was played at 7:00 pm. That's a WHOLE lot of tailgatin'. I "talked" to one buddy who went to the game, and he was incoherent at noon.
