Congrats to MSU

MSU played a helluva game and did everything they could to win the game. ND shot themselves in the foot a number of times, but showed a lot of heart coming back from a 21 point hole to tie the game. ND hasn't shown that kind of heart since Holtz was on the sidelines.

ND lost the game and MSU won. Props to MSU's real fans and alumni who were nothing but class at the game.

Now for Babs. Babs, we had a little conversation about what name you were going to post under in this forum. You selected MSUFAN. So, as soon as I get done with this post, your other topics under the name "titlover" or whatever the fuck it is, are going to be locked and trotsed. You want to recopy them under the name "MSUFAN", fine. Had you done that in the first place, I'd have no problem with them up there. But, in typical bitch fashion, you registerd another name to do it. Say bye to them. Way to come in here before the game and start talking shit. It takes a real fan to actually wait until your team wins to start running your mouth.

You want that MSUFAN nick back, email an admin and have your password reset. Losing your computer doesn't mean you lost your nickname.

Wrong-o again, buck-o. If you read my little post in YOUR "Babs" call out thread, it's dated BEFORE Saturday. Dillweed.

Fucking Weiss is the man. I've been rooting for Him and Brady (Tom, not Quinn) during his stint with the Pats. I can't believe I have to hate him now. ND is going to be very good very soon. You gotta like his odds when he gets his kids to run his scheme over the next few years.

Congrats ND. You're in good hands.

^ Christ.

All that, just because of one shithead of a stinker game by a true soph QB.
All of a sudden, the "FIGHTING" Irish are America's team, eh?!

Fuck you, Saints! We got "Chuckles", the wonder dick, Weis!! - And America's new Team!!!

Fuckin UM blew at LEAST 14 easy points, and has been RAPED by injuries, but ND and Weis are going to Pasadena, huh?! (And don't even get me started on the lucky assed deflected TD pass. My God.

Right.

The guys had 14 friggin coaching years in the NFL. The last 4 as a O-Coord. for the WORLDS CHAMPS.

Soon as this turd revamps ND to a couple bowels, he's GONE, people.
Ala Saban, and others. Get real.

Archive that shit.

Also: I did PM PSU just now. I just thought a Weis nic would be appropriate for a few days.

You can go back to being MSU's Bitch, ok?

7 of 9.

5 in a row in "OUR" new House.

And TWELVE overall. More than ANY other College!

How's that feel?

Next time you feel the urge to cream your panties over Weis, (and you've been shitting on this MSU game for months, don't deny it.) I'd back away from the submit button. As I said before; No sig. bet in the universe could outdo what the Spartans have done to your new Knute Rockne!

Soon as PSU sends my old PWord, You can fry this little Weis nic. OK?

This will be the only time I respond to this nic.

First off, you wanna archive that? Weis isn't going anywhere dumb fuck. He's not a coach at a second tier school that will always play second fiddle to the school down the road. Weis will be at ND for 10-15 years and retire if he is successful. The only way he would make his way back to the NFL would be if he was fired. Archive that shit.

Second, those records that MSU holds for 12 at ND stadium and 5 in a row, don't mean shit. If you want to hang your hat on records such as those, be my guest. But remember, bragging about records like that means you don't have too much else to brag about.

Weis was bound to lose a game, and if he had to lose, I'm glad it was in that fashion. As many times as UofM shot themselves in the foot against ND, ND did against MSU, and they still came back from 21 down in the 3rd quarter to send the game into overtime. Willingham's (MSU grad) team would have rolled over and died.

So excuse me if I don't think this loss is the end of the world. ND is closer to being ND, while MSU will still always be MSU.

you dont think that a head coaching job in the NFL would lure Weis?

people always assume carroll will jump at an NFL head job but he seems to be having more fun and is in more control of everything at USC than he could ever possibly be in the NFL

I think Weis still holds a grudge against many in the NFL for not giving him a shot sooner. That, added to the fact that he is a ND grad and they have opened the purse strings, I don't see him leaving anytime soon. Now, if he built ND into a team like USC, he may jump at the NFL as a different challenge, but I don't see him doing it if he doesn't win a NC at ND.

kil, did they ever release the terms of weis' contract? i can imagine he's making a little bit more than a third of the lowest paid coaches in the nfl. for the vikings to only pay tice 900k is a joke, but then again, you get what you pay for and he is an idiot.

No, they haven't released the exact therms (not that I have seen) but I would guess that after perks his compensation is somewher in the $1.2-$1.5 M range. Considering what they paid Willingham and the fact that Weis asked for less money and the difference to go to his assistants, that would be my guess.

Ya the vikings are basically getting what they paid for with Tice, I like the guy but he just isn't getting the job done.

If this were any other college I'd agree about Weis seeing this as a stepping stone, but I can see him staying at a place so close to his heart. Weis would be getting a NFL-HC offer sooner or later if he stayed with the Pats. I think ND was an end rather than a means.

I was wondering why Notre Dame stepped away from the running game. Even when they were down by a few scores, I would have continued to pound MSU with the run, 1) to slow the pace of the game, and 2) tire them out.

I thought Weis played into their hands by passing the ball so much. ND's got an experienced, talented OL. Early in the game, they looked like they'd be able to establish dominance if they stuck with the run.

To MSU's credit, their dline was controlling the LOS in the first half. I think ND's starting fullback was in the doghouse for this game, so Weis went with a lot of one back sets. MSU put 9 guys in the box early and ND's oline couldn't get a push. Quinn missed on a few deep passes early that could have softend the defense up. But, by the time he found a rythem, they were down 21.

They did run the ball effectively in the second half, especially on the drive where they went for it on 4th and short and missed. Walker had a TD run called back because of a hold on Stovall and then on the 4th and short play, it was supposed to go to Walker on the outside who would have walked into the endzone but there was a mixup between Quinn and Weis.

MSU's secondary is horrible, so Weis had no problems trying to attack them through the air. I think his biggest mistake was not trying to run the ball in overtime. MSU's defense had been on the field all game and was sucking wind. That was the time to pound it down their throats.
