I see the Korey Stringer incident has left it's mark

NOT!

sin

The Houston Texans management who left their dome open even though game time temps were in excess of 100 degrees.

Not that it worked or anything. But you would think the league would step in and have some kind of say in these cases. That fuckin bush league peice of shit franchise in Houston could have gotten someone killed for no reason.

The Texans opted to keep the stadium's retractable roof open in an effort to sweat out their neighbors from the Northeast. The strategy didn't work and instead, the crowd turned the heat on Capers, quarterback David Carr and offensive coordinator Chris Palmer for Houston's tedious playcalling and poor performance.

I don't agree, Bri.

Home team has a right to play to their advantage.

You know how things work in the NFL........... winning games comes before the safety of the players. How could you not know this? Sheesh.

What? Texans offensive linemen don't get heatstroke? It was a bullshit move.

Why not just make it two-hand touch? Oooooh, its too hot. Let's just jog around instead of running full-speed.

Texans fired their offensive coordinator.

They should also fire Al Roker because it wasn't hot enough to affect the opposition.

Typical handwringing BS from BCunt.
Handwringing?

You dipshit. My team WON the game.

Should the league mandate that Miami needs to build a dome? Or Texas Stadium needs to plug that hole? Gets hot there, too. Or that Seattle needs to cover their lid? After all, it could rain and make the field slippery.

Training camp is still held outdoors in very hot parts of the country all over the NFL. The league did learn something and now players are monitored much more closely for signs of heat stress than they were before.

And they promote the Offensive Line Coach to Coordinator

The one whose line gave up 12 sacks over 2 weeks.... yeah- he's the one I would promote. Granted- Palmer called the plays- but Pendry is responsible for that piece of shit they call an Offensive Line... lets see what happens to their offense now.

There's a difference between an open air stadium and a retractable dome.

You do understand that?

In this case, the only reason for leaving the dome open was to cause physical discomfort to the players. The Texans could have closed the dome at a minimal cost of time, money and effort. To compare that to a league edict that Miami build a dome is completely fucking retarded.

No more fucking retarded than saying the league needs to "step in" to avoid one team causing "physical discomfort" to another.

I remember when that stadium first opened and I was like "why the fuck do they need a dome in Houston?" and some of you SoTex fucks about came out your socks telling me how hot it was there and a dome was absolutely necessary. I won't swear to it, but I'm pretty damn sure that Red and poptart were among that crew.

I guess they only need a dome when it's convenient then, huh?

I need air conditioning in my car down here, too. However, if I have to give some schmuck from Pittsburgh a lift, I don't need a cop pulling me over and telling me that I have to roll up my windows and turn on the A/C so I don't cause the guy some physical discomfort.

OK, but how about your boss decides that since the competition is in the same building you are in that he'll cut off the AC and try to sweat out the opposition? How long until OSHA is crawling over the place?

Oh my fucking god. Please delete that post, Bri. Please.

These guys get paid to fly headfirst into each other with no regard for their own safety, much less the safety of the other guy. It got hot on Sunday? Well, shit, I guess there shouldn't be any games scheduled after November 1 in Green Bay, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Buffalo, New England, New York, Pittsburgh, or Baltimore either. I hear it gets below 50 degrees in them there parts.

Don't you have an appointment with a shower rod?

Obviously you've missed the NFLs constant barrage of PR about player safety.

But it gets COLD in the winter, Bri. What about all the frozen porn 'staches in Green Bay? What about Favre's hand warmer? Shouldn't we do all we can to prevent frostbite during cold weather games?

Why don't the Packers build a dome to protect the visiting teams from the cold and snow? I bet they get a wee bit uncomfortable during the games. Why, I bet its a bit of a home field advantage. Oops, there I go making sense again. Never mind. Continue raging against the machine, Bri. Obviously, southern teams have no right to run their own stadia in order to excercise their own home field advantage, but cold weather teams are allowed to revel in it. I see. Hot = bad, cold = good.

I see, you're unable to draw an apples to apples comparison so you're going to recycle the same argument I've already reduced to shreds.

Again, let me know when an NFL player has died of frostbite.

You still fail to see the ridiculousness of your stance. Stringer died due to abuse of ephedra, the Niner lineman died of a heart condition. Dozens of NFL players have been paralyzed because of spinal injuries, and hundreds have had their careers cut short because of catastrophic joint injuries.

Yet you are bitching about the Texans leaving the dome open on a hot day. No one was in danger from the heat, unless they had a heart condition or were abusing speed. ALL OF THEM were in danger of becoming paralyzed, and that had nothing to do with the fucking roof.

What is so rediculous about USING THE STADIUM THE WAY THE OWNERS OF THE TEAM INTENDED?
Stringer died due to abuse of ephedra,
No ephedra was found in Stringer's blood.
the Niner lineman died of a heart condition. Dozens of NFL players have been paralyzed because of spinal injuries, and hundreds have had their careers cut short because of catastrophic joint injuries.
All true and all irrelevant to this argument.

Not true. Why do you think Steelers players took IV fluids before the game? They knew the danger that was out there. Only this time is was a danger that could have been minimized without affecting the integrity of the game.

The fact that they took IV fluids proves what I have been saying. They took proper precautions, just as there are heaters on the sidelines in cold weather, and players wear layers under their uniforms, and QBs wear hand warmers around their waists. You do what you have to to play. There is no onus on the Texans to close the roof to make the Steelers comfy. Get used to it.

Nothing, and that's exactly what they did, BMelt. Give you three guesses as to who had the final approval on the decision.

It's not the heat, it's the decision to put people at risk unecessarily.

But feel free to not get it. I have a game or two to watch.

Again, you miss the larger point. The entire sport puts every player at a much higher risk on every play, in every game. You kibbitzing over the temperature during an NFL game is laughable.

No Kutter, you miss the larger point. Yeah, the game is dangerously violent. So it's ok to make it even more dangerous, just because they can, eh?

That's laughable.
