To answer your question, losing 1/2 game off a 6 game division lead in a 20-1 loss to the last place team will do that to a person. Additiionally, Cardnial and Brave fans are such spurious pricks that I enjoy wathcing their inevitable meltdown in the postseason as their teams crash and burn, regardless of any goading by my part.

So where are the 'Sox fans?, Red or White makes no difference to me, I'm tolerant.

Say what? I thought Cards fans were boring and passive.

I'd bark more if there were more Cub fans. I like the rival Stros and their fans on this board.

"Why does nobody really talk smack on this forum?"

Honestly, because I am lousy at it and it would not be pretty for me if I tried.

i knew when the white sox put playoff tickets on sale two weeks ago (for three home games, as well), it might not end well for them.

i never imagined this total nosedive.

If the Yankees and Red Sox meet up in the postseason again, the fur should be flying in here again. It is a pretty tame forum though. SoxFan and YankeeFan aren't nearly as confident as they have been in past years because neither have a playoff spot clinched yet. CardinalFan is the only fan that can run smack on everyone because they haven't had to sweat during the stretch run.

Okay, my input... other than SMACKSMACK..

In the AL, the Best team right now is..

There is no best team!!

The Yankees do not have reliable pitching but.. they are more reliable than the Red Sox.

The Red Sox have more Offense 1 through 9.

Now that Giambi is back on the Juice.. the Yankees Offense is heating up!!

In the Central, the Indians are the hottest and most exciting team in the American League and in all of baseball, IMO.
I think the White Sox will falter, leaving the Red Sox and Yankees room to both make the Post Season.

The Angels have pretty much won the West.

I believe the Pennant Race will come down to the Red Sox vs. the Indians.

************************************************
The Yankees will not win the World Series as they have taken over having a curse- THE NEW MILLENIUM CURSE!!

The Yankees have not won in this millenium and whoever they played last in the season- won the World Series ( The Red Sox, Angels, Marlins, Diamondbacks)

*************************************************
*************************************************

In the NL,

Saint Louis will win, the Braves will wear the bridesmaid dress (AGAIN).

Saint Louis is the Best Team in baseball and is most deserving of all the teams (AL & NL) of being World Series Champions BUT..

The World Series will be won by another American League team.
Can you say BACK to BACK??
(Tony LaRussa will be exposed AGAIN for overmanaging...)

Did You know...

Tony La Russa compiled a .199 batting average in 132 major league games, playing for the Kansas City and Oakland Athletics, Atlanta Braves and Chicago Cubs. His professional career spanned 16 seasons, starting in 1962, when he signed with Kansas City the night he graduated from high school.

As I said.. THIS MILLENIUM!!

2000 was the end of the last millenium..

When you count in the base 10 system, you start at 1.

Suppose you were counting out one hundred pennies to make a dollar. The 100th penny you counted would be the last penny counted toward the dollar. Similarly, if you were counting out two thousand pennies to make twenty dollars, the 2,000th penny would be the last one counted, the end of the series.

Since we begin counting with number 1, centuries begin with years ending in 1, not with years ending in 0. It doesn't make sense to begin counting with zero, because zero stands for the absence of anything to be counted.

Good Luck with your curse!!!
