Watching the Jest/Jags game, Gus Johnson and Brent Jones come off as a couple NY homers.

Brent Jones a NY homer?

Didn't he pick up 3 Super Bowl rings with San Fran?

Watching the same game here. Not feeling the homerisim.

Maybe Jones constant whining "Its a touchdown!" 5 times in a row made me think that.

I'll nominate CBS' Dick Stockton for his calls during the 'Skins Week 1 win over Da Bears,
referring to the Washington QB as "Scott" Brunell several times
before correcting himself. :P

I'm a big Gus Johnson fan...more for college hoops than NFL though. I think he does work locally in NYC.

Of course at the end of the game Jones was arguing just as vehemently against Chrebet's TD and for Jimmy Smith's TD.

I realize this is a Jones bashing thread, but for now and in the near future if someone mentions worst TV announcer I have to throw Sterling Sharpes name in the hat. I think he's still on Randy Moss's jock to this day.

Gus Johnson calls Knicks games on the radio.

The three worst game announcers all work for ESPN and happen to share the same booth at the same time, unfortunately.

Bill Maas is an assclown who thinks he is John Madden.

There will never be a worse announcer than Burnt Hambur...err... Brent Musberger.

Not only does he posess absolute suckage he's been doing it for years.

Musberger was the absolute worst. Good lord he could fuck up the best game with his whinning drivel.

Anybody named Baldinger has to be on the short list. Brian and the other one. Phew, they are bad.

That whole espn crew is nothing but a constant ear bleed. Paul McGuire sounds like he's ready to eat someone during the telecast. Theisman is Tim McCarver without the stupid southern twang and Mike Patrick makes every tackle out to be the most ferocious tackle since Concrete Charlie laid out Gifford.

Boomer Esiason on MNF was horrible on the TV side, but right now he does a credible job on the MNF radio broadcast.

As for horrible announcers, Brent Musburger needs to be shot to death period. Holy crap he's horrible. And speaking of "horrrrrrrible", Bill Walton is right behind him. Thank goodness for the mute button.

All of the NFL announcers pretty much suck sans Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. The rest of them are just plain awful. And Sterling Moss (he's married to Randy right? ) is just as bad.

Dan Farts never did much for me.

Jones is on the San Jose Sharks Board of Directors , and has a venture capital business here in the Bay Area .
