The arrogance is just astounding. I hope they reject her just to shove it in his face.
Bush: Miers Will Be Confirmed to Top Court

By JESSE J. HOLLAND, Associated Press Writer 1 hour, 33 minutes ago

WASHINGTON -
President Bush predicted Friday that Harriet Miers will be confirmed to the Supreme Court despite grumbling from conservatives that has led a few to call for the president to withdraw her nomination.

Asked he if would rule out ever seeing Miers' name withdrawn, Bush did not answer directly — substituting instead words of confidence about her confirmation process. "She is going to be on the bench," he said. "She'll be confirmed."

Lighten up.

He has confidence in his pick and he's maintaining a positive attitude.

For Pete's sake, can we let the process play out. The Senate has the bottom line and final say. Let them grill her, they will. And let's see how she does.

And then you'll be there to spin this for Bush.

Got it.

What's so "spin" about a President choosing canidate and standing behind that canidate, i.e. His Selection.

What do you want him to do ? Mope around and say "Aww gee shucks, everyone is complainin', put my finger to the wind this morning and it was blowing east, guess I should have picked someone else".

No, but a little humility would have been more appropriate. Something on the lines of " I firmly believe in her confidence as a supreme court nominee, and I would request of members of congress that they set aside any misgivings and give her a chance to show them what I see in her.

Not a snowballs chance in hell of that happening, though. He thinks he has a mandate from god and the people to do whatever the fuck he wants.

Not that this has anything to do with anything, but every time you say that, it feels like it's accompanied by you doing the dual finger guns and making that clicking sound with your mouth.

Carry on.

You're right, it doesn't.
