That said, the women's national team hadn't lost a game since 2006. I didn't know that, because... see my opening sentence. That's impressive in any sport, even ones that don't count.

I did see that the attendance for the game was 11,000+... which is more than 159 D1 teams had all of last season (I didn't realize it was that bad). BTW, the conference with the best chickhoops attendance?

The olny women's basketball I ever saw was when I was "working" on the Event Staff at SWFL College here. At the Junior College level they were pretty good. A couple games were actually exciting (i.e. close in OT). About the only difference with the men's team was the lack of any play "above the rim" such as alley-oop pass/dunks. But even that became sort of ho-hum, especially in blow out games.

There have already been high school level "girl's " state champs in track. We haven't seen it get to the "big" women's sports in any major way, but you just know that somewhere there's a 6'7" power forward with D3 men's skills that will change this. Back when I was younger I would play pick up basketball at a place
called the SHELL right next to Camp Randall Stadiium on the UW Madison Campus.


In the summer the UW chicks baketball team would stoll into the shell and demand "NEXT COURT!"

Me...a good athlete but never played high school basketball would go around and find four other
dudes I never met before to play against the FIVE UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN WOMENS VARSITY BBALL PLAYERS.

It was so funny....I would block their shots, steal their passes and we would win 15-5 almost every time.

Each game was to 15 and one point at a time so it was reallly 30-10....and I couldn't even make the JV team in HS.


The reason I'm posting this is because womens sports are a JOKE!

Who actually says this? I prefer women's tennis because I'm more into watching hot chicks play tennis than I am the sport itself. Which is fine, I'm more there for the T&A.

A women's competition can be fantastic.

My point is just that a person is deluded if they watch it and imagine that the competitors they are watching are of anywhere near the same skill level and ability as the men.

Hopefully, a free college education is at the end of this marathon.
