The new sanctuary cities...
Gun sanctuary cities are the new thing. Cities, counties, towns etc are now passing resolutions declaring themselves gun sanctuary cities. They are saying they will not enforce new restrictions on gun control.
They are using the arguments cities have made in not cooperating on illegal immigration. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.
Props to these cities and counties. I don’t think this is how cities should act but if it ends sanctuary cities for illegal immigration and guns then great.
Some law enforcement agencies have even said they would consider deputizing citizens to skirt new laws.

Good for them. An armed populace with guns can do a lot to stop crime. Urban areas especially.
In west metro Portland yesterday, this scum bag gangster walked into a Wells Fargo bank and used a machette to hack one woman to death, critically injure another, go next door to a gym, hack another dude, steal his car, take off, wreck it out, hack another dude and steal his car before police were able to capture him. Pity they captured him, he should have given them a reason to hose him.
Of course being the liberal area of Portland, no one was around with a gun to help stop his ass. Pretty close to Dins crib too.

“The resolutions passed in Virginia, for example, are largely symbolic in nature and many do not explicitly spell out how a county would oppose new gun laws – just that it does.”

All States should have them Schmick.
If law enforcement can ignore certain infractions for moving violations they can ignore gun infractions as well, despite what any AG says.

It would depend on what the laws were. If a state passed a law that said semi auto guns were illegal then it would be hard for stores to sell them. However cops could pull someone over for speeding and then see a semi auto gun and choose not to issue a ticket.
If cities can prevent their police from asking immigration questions they can prevent their police from asking gun questions as well.

A cop is going to size up a stop, notice the gleam of some chrome...and then somehow take a more relaxed disposition?

Re: The new sanctuary cities...
Slowmo must think every cop interaction happens like on the old cops tv show.
In the real world the few times I have been stopped and had a gun in my car I immediately let the officer know. Two of them asked me to open the back so they could verify. Once verified both thanked me and we got down to the business of the stop. If you don’t act a fool or crazy nervous cops take it way less stressed. They might approach the car amped up but that should dissipate almost immediately.
One of the stops was for not having lights fully on after dark. I had just picked up the rental car and was less than a mile from the facility. He chose not to give me a ticket.
Again, if he can pass on writing that ticket he can pass on writing a gun ticket.

Seems that the gutter rats living in the Democrat socialist cities weren't raised by human beings
like we were. So when they get pulled over, they want to resist disrespect and assault.

Resistance to authority is one aspect of a healthy, "free" society.
It's a shame a communist has to explain that to a "liberty loving Reagan conservative".

You may have a psychological disorder that makes you fear anyone in a position of power over you.
This may include the cashier at your local McDonald's as you try to get a piece of bacon at no extra cost to you.
With your particular disorder, that scenario could get you into trouble. A minimum wage cashier has the authority to throw you out in the street should you get cheeky with her.
This has no effect on normal healthy minded people who have the American Express Corporate card.
But to a guy like you who's digging into his lint-filled pockets for dirty pennies?
Catastrophic.
