The 2008 banking crisis meant people were out of work for a long time. Unemployment was extended from 6 months to approximately 2 years, with encouragement given to re-education to enter different jobs/apprenticeships over trying to apply for jobs which didn't exist.

That was Bush. He did the right thing.

You worry about the wrong things. Some of these jobs are never coming back. Telling someone to take a ten hour a week (or other sub-full time minimum wage) job just to save a literal drop in the budget bucket is unconscionable.

Again, those who want to work will work. But the jobs have to exist. You're exchanging unemployment for the byzantine nightmare of outright welfare, and see no problem with that. Unemployment is temporary, until shit shakes out for the new normal.

Leading who? If you are looking at total deaths then the answer is because our population is much greater than many other countries. If we are looking at it as a percentage of the population, then we aren't leading anything and many of the European countries are much higher than ours.

If you want to start assessing blame for the recent spikes, ask the youngsters and partiers. Then you can ask those that protested in large groups and the rioters.

I don't know. There isn't enough info on one yet. I don't take a flu shot each year, but do cover it for employees that want one. I don't see making a Rona Flu vaccine mandatory for employees.
