Pay Cuts
Universities across the county have all struggled financially this year.
So why haven't they all asked their highest paid employees to take a pay cut?
https://www.espn.com/college-sports/sto ... s-pandemic
I get that your most highly paid employee is also your most important employee (theoretically). But it's irresponsible to not manage costs better during severe financial hardship. University boards should wake up and make correct decisions.

Of course Bill gets it wrong.
Those schools where the athletic department stands alone and doesn’t take funds from the general school budget shouldn’t be included here. Why cut a coaches salary when none of it comes from student tuition/fees or general endowment?
Different story when it comes to athletic departments where some of the budget comes from the general university fund.

Not surprised.
The accounting method doesn’t affect the decline in revenue.
For public universities these coaches are employees of the state. They are not employed by some private entity separate from the institution.
Why do you persist in continually lying when repeatedly being proven wrong?

If you insist I will kick your ass again.
Take Texas for instance. Coach Herman isn’t getting any of his salary from the general fund. The football program is fully self supporting. Paying him his full salary or some reduced amount doesn’t change the budget of the university general fund.
Another Bill lie and fail.

You’re an absolute dipshit.
Herman is an employee of UT. You can add all the spin you want but you cannot dispute facts.
You are ignorant of facts. Why don’t you admit to that?

Re: Pay Cuts
They paid for the stadium and the land and the upkeep and the security and they pay shit ton of taxes so the benefits of roads for people to get to the games and broadcast infrastructure is all covered and they have paid back the school for all the years they lost money while the University built up its name and helped the football team build up their’s.Left Seater wrote: ↑Sat Jul 18, 2020 3:40 pm If you insist I will kick your ass again.

Re: Pay Cuts
My pay got cut 25%, which lasted about a month and was reinstated in June.
They also suspended the 401(k) match but I had already earned the entire annual match (which isn’t all that much) by March.

Eviction halting is only through the end of September. Since you own multiple rental properties, you have an attorney. What does your attorney say about offering your leasees the options of a payment plan during the crisis?

The $20 million from the Longhorn Network is guaranteed. The donations to the Longhorn Foundation don’t stop. Sale of branded/logo apparel doesn’t stop.
Hell, even with no sports they still probably clear $50 Million.

You must not understand anything about management. Multifaceted businesses have overarching decision makers. Decisions are not made in a vacuum. Why would they? Especially during crisis circumstances.Left Seater wrote: ↑Mon Jul 20, 2020 12:31 am The $20 million from the Longhorn Network is guaranteed. The donations to the Longhorn Foundation don’t stop. That’s impressive for someone who doesn’t have the IQ to tie his shoes.
It doesn’t matter what the hell you do. Whether you manage ten or a hundred employees. You’re an idiot as evidenced by each of your posts here.

We never disagreed on who Herman’s employer is.
But sure claim victory, it’s what idiots like you do. You move the goalposts and straw men around so much you lose site of what was being discussed.
As for the actual topic at hand, you remain totally clueless.
And you are damn straight I am proud of my 10 person business. I took the risk, created jobs, and haven’t furloughed or let anyone go. I know you think you know what it means to run a business and how to manage, but you have no clue. Deciding how long you are going to walk the streets of Montrose isn’t management.

Straight up amateurs. In Oregon, the coaches are state employees. The absolute highest paid state employees ever. Belloti is getting over $ 500,000 a year in PERS retirement pay every fucking years. He has not been on that campus for at least 12 years or more.Left Seater wrote: ↑Sat Jul 18, 2020 3:40 pm

Two doctors and a football coach in the top 5. Allotti is a pauper at only $ 22,000 something a month.

I just flushed more knowledge of business down the shitter this morning than you'll acquire in your lifetime. But you asked, so here goes
Now what the fuck does that have to do with anything I posted? You should put down your meth pipe before proceeding to expose your ignorance on a message board.
Major universities are multi-billion dollar organizations. They are governed by boards with diverse members with multiple skill sets. This includes business acumen as well as management skills, organizational development experts and human resource managers. All told a typical board of directors for a major university has a wealth of resources that it relies upon. The President of the university works with the board much like a private corporation would with proper governance. Each with roles and responsibilities, for the ultimate goal of the entity's mission.
I know this is now going far over your head, so go ahead and take a rest and come back. I'll continue to kick your ass for everyone else to see.
Universities have every incentive possible, just like private business to operate efficiently. That includes cost management. When revenues are strained it's especially important to make adjustments wherever and however possible. Is this difficult for you to understand? Do you think that a multi-billion dollar university would not do this while a multi-billion dollar corporation would?
Your ignorance has gotten you in way over your head. Go ahead and start a topic where you have a take that doesn't look like it streamed from your anus.
This comment shows your political mindset, not any kind of business knowledge. The principals of market efficiency are the same for public or private enterprise. You imply an inefficiency in public entities where high earners dispose of low earners for self preservation. And how long can that continue with reasonable oversite? It becomes too costly and ultimately unsustainable. Don't be a bitter little bitch. Even the Republicans understand the role of public operations and employment. You however aren't capable of understanding the difference between your ass and a hat.Derron wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 2:13 amyou dumb fuck. Learn how public employment works.
