When they opened a couple doors to let us in, there was a brief yet scary moment when I felt this mass moving body of people. This was around the time of the WHO concert tragedy in Cincinnati. I realized how that could happen. Since then I have avoided getting into such a situation

Obviously something went very wrong at this festival for this to happen. Cannot believe that a fatal stampede took place in the 2020s. From the articles I have read, security is a prime target for promoter savings. It's a crucial part of putting on a safe festival but it is also a tempting place for promoters to hire untrained bodies and call them security instead of more expensive trained professionals.

Not sure that we need to get rid of unassigned seating at festivals. It is still extremely rare for this type of event to occur. Think of how many music and rock festivals have taken place in the US between 2000 and 2020.
