Inspired by the superstitions thread --

What's your favorite ball(GOLF balls, you homos).

Strict adherence to one?

Don't care?

I have a few favorites. And they all seem to say Titleist on them.

For all-around hacking, the HVC Soft Feel is a pretty sweet ball. Does a little bit of everything.

The ProV1 is probably the best ball out there-imo, but paying $3.50 a ball can run up a HUGE bill on a bad-swing-day.

The ProV1x seems to really jump off the driver, but I'm not sure that I've ever sliced/hooked one "a little bit." You hit those sweet and straight, or check out the next fairway over.

If anyone has ever said a bad word about the DT90, I haven't heard it yet. Found a really old one somewhere, and that's when I learned that DT stands for "Durable Titleist."

More often than not, I generally play with whatever the dude who hacked one in the woods like I did and gave up looking for was playing, assuming it wasn't all scuffed.

Had a box of those cheap-ass Wilson distance balls once. Tell you what, those balls worked great. Felt good, flew far......but the covers always seemed to be all rough after a few holes, even without introducing them to the cart path.

What say you?

I'm not picky, i just like to play Titleist. my Dad who is a Titleist guy brainwashed me as a kid--the fact he's been a 3-5 handicap player for about 30 years didn't hurt.

i guess it's brand loyalty. i live in Colorado but I'm from Norman, OK and at the University Golf course they print up all these balls for local tournaments/charity/corporate deals....and they always seem to have them on sale after the fact. so when i'm visiting family i always pull in and grab a box or two and significant discount. i don't care if it says "Department of Sociology Fourball" or has some CrapTech logo on it. i've got several sleeves of NXT Tours right around here somewhere.

also, buying golfballs in the winter is not to be overlooked for bargain status.

Like I posted in the other thread, I have a ball scavanger for a friend. 100 Top Flites for 30 bucks. No cart path balls and most of them are fresh and only have been hit a few times.

Of course I supplement that collection with the fruits of my own constant woodland expeditions.

Where I live, we(the diehards, aka "morons") play all winter. Rarely freezes or snows or any of that obnoxious winter stuff, save for a buch of staedy drizzle. Round here, it gets muddy as all hell during the winter months. I find so many plugged ones in the fairway while looking for my own, that it's rare I have to buy any in winter. I guess some people give up looking quicker than I do, or if they're playing as a single don't have spotters. Gotta have spotters in winter. I've played in light snow(that once every few years it snows) -- only time it's acceptable to play with a gay orange or white ball.....it's actually neccessary.

I have a friend that has kinda of a flea market in his yard, while he watches the kids all day(white trash, much?). Don't know where he gets them, but I go through his box and cherry-pick the deece Titleists, which he sells me 12 for a buck. I'll take that deal all day long, and twice on Sunday.

Titleist Pro-V's when playing serious (tournament, money)

Precept Lady when playing for fun.......has all the characterisitics of the Pro V, but don't fly quite as far--a whole lot cheaper though...

I've been partial to the Callaway HX Red lately. ProV1 is always good. On a drunken round, I use the Titlest DT SOLO.

Same as Felix, I use ProV1's in tournaments but for regular rounds I play these

Good distance, feel's decent enough and the price is right at $12.00 for an 18 pack

But you've got to have a lot of confidence to walk into an adjoining fairway asking anyone if they've seen a Flying Lady 3 with a scuff mark that makes the 3 look like an 6........

I have a Pink Lady ball that has been in my bag for nearly 10 years. It started off as a ball that would only see play near water. Of course, every time I did tee it up, I would hit my best shot of the round. Now I'm afraid to lose it, so I never play it anymore.

Bridgestone B330-S...comes out at the end of the month...try IT! (played it yesterday...good on distance...and is sweet on/around the greens.)

Precept U-Tri Tour is a great ball for $30/ doz.

Noodle/Solo/Lady/Laddie are all good for slapping it around...but. so are the $10-15 value packs.

Wilson TC2 Tour....very underrated.

the NEW Wilson Staff balls are pretty FRESH for a change. TX4 and Px3...SOLID....and cheap!

Titelist DT Solo - If you're a Pro V1 or V1X kinda guy, give this ball a try. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how soft this ball plays around the greens. Maybe not quite as soft as the Pro V1, but certainly playable. And it's only $20 a dozen.

I played a round with the Precept EV extra spin on Saturday. Actually couldn't tell much of a difference between it and the DT Solo. I had one ball spin off a green and had a 4-iron stop on one hop.
