Further proof that having Pat Quinn relinquish his GM duties was a mistake.

Leafs Lunch were gushing over Mo as if he's the next Leafs coach and could replace Pat Quinn. :roll:

Maurice, at this point in time, isn't even fit to carry Quinn's jockstrap.

You're right.. there really is no comparison when you view their records as coach of professional teams

Quinn's career NHL coaching record (through 2002-2003 season) is 571-439-144, with a winning percentage of .557.

As Head Coach, Quinn's teams have advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals twice: in 1980 (Philadelphia Flyers) and in 1994 (Vancouver Canucks).

Quinn has been awarded the Jack Adams Award as the NHL's Coach-of-the-Year twice; in 1991-92 with Vancouver and 1979-80 with the Philadelphia Flyers. Quinn was named runner-up for the award in 1998-99. In addition to NHL Coach of the Year honours in 1979-80 with the Flyers, Quinn was named ‘The Hockey News' Coach of the Year in 1992 and 1980, and ‘The Hockey News' Executive of the Year in 1992. Quinn was also named ‘The Sporting News' Coach of the Year in 1992 and 1980. How many Cups does Quinn have? If you want to talk "proven winner", then I suggest you start there.

No no, I know your history witb Mo..

But proven winners don't necessarily have to have a Cup, although it would be nice if he did after 38.. 39? years because it sure would make this arguement a whole lot less painful :cry:

In any case--your prospects are fucked, unless Chairman Mo has learned a thing or two about developing talent during his 1.5 year layoff. He's a nice guy, pretty smart, knows and loves the game--but as a coach? Umm....no.

*:Unless you're Herb Brooks--then ((beating Russkies at the height of the Cold War with college kids + NCAA titles) + (winning record/NHL + NCAA)) = (Stanley Cup + winning record).

Don't be giving Quinn much credit for the Olympic gold. He tried his best to lose even that. Remember that he stood by Cujo and declared him the Team Canada starter.

Bwahaha Thank god that Martin & Hitchcock straightened that out for him. Quinn is a loudmouth buffoon. He's an adequate coach, at best. His front office skills are sub-par.
