Heads up, everyone. There's a game Thursday night. If you want to pick it, don't wait until Saturday.
Re: 2023 Three Best Bets -- Week 6
Thanks for the heads up.

When tart takes over, it’s a different animal. He’ll break shit down by date, time and projected wind direction. Screwball is more of a meat-and-potatoes guy, throw the slop out and say “eat.” I appreciate both styles, and have enjoyed watching Screwy take charge and fight off infidels during his 2023 tenure while running an underrated first half.

He gets the line up on time, and he hasn't butchered the results at all.

Question I heard asked on sports radio today, "Will the Chiefs score more points than the number of times the camera zooms in on Taylor Swift?" Looks like it could have been a push.

Re: 2023 Three Best Bets -- Week 6
Worst officiated game I’ve ever seen. And not just because the Niners lost. 25 total penalties for 224 yards, including two on the Browns final drive that were at least questionable. One on 3rd and 10, extending the drive, that was complete bullshit. There was even a face mask on a punt return that should have been called on the kicking team that they called on the receiving team. They even got the jersey number correct. The ball was spotted and almost ready to start play before they realized they had it ass backwards.
Plus the network cut to the fucking Rams game with 1:44 left and the Niners about to start what should have been the game winning drive. At least I didn’t have to see the missed 40 yard FG with the clock running out.

How the fuck is this an illegal hit? This was third and ten on what turned out to be the Browns’ game winning drive. Replay clearly showed nothing but shoulder to shoulder contact.

It sucks, Mikey.
What we basically have in the NFL now is that if a player is hit hard, a flag will almost certainly fly.

It was a late hit. The ball sailed over his head, then he got taken out.

It was bang bang.
I don't think you can realistically expect the defender to pull back from that contact.

Re: 2023 Three Best Bets -- Week 6
True, but you can't tell me the DB didn't know the pass was incomplete and still smoked him with everything he had. The slightest hint of pulling up would have saved him, why would you think you can get away with that now?

I can donate a few engraved trophies if needed. I hope it’s OK if they’re engraved for the 1967 Palo Alto Little League City Championship. The Whistle Is Screaming wrote: ↑Sun Oct 15, 2023 8:44 pm

Re: 2023 Three Best Bets -- Week 6
I think you've been watching too much soccer.
The DB didn't "smoke him with everything he had."
He actually took it very easy on the receiver.
The only reason it looked as bad as it did, and it didn't even look bad to me, was because the receiver had both feet off the ground when contact was made.
If the receiver had even one foot on the ground, the hit would have looked like a big nothing, which it really was anyway.

Actually I have. And what cheers me up more than soccer, is throwing my Andre Waters/Leonard Smith tapes in the VCR and laughing it up.
Just more dirty play from the 49ers, that we've all come to expect. The DB should be in jail and hopefully the Browns receiver is out of hospital. What makes a good postscript to this egregious hit is the Browns smoked the 49ers like Dave at a Kansas City cookout. Their regular season streak is ended and we can watch them wipe their tears on their Brock Purdy shirtsleeves. You can put off your call to Sherlock Holmes for help in solving 'the case of the mysterious penalty flag'.
