Well, that's one. Then there is
from the same region we discover:
Re: Is nothing sacred?
Wife and I are United frequently flyers, club members, and we place big purchases on our United credit cards (paying it off immediately of course). Couple that with my employer requesting I fly United for work to Singapore, Belgium, Saudi, and our domestic sites. The points certainly do rack up.
On the occasion when a deal comes across from SW for flights to Albuquerque (wife’s side of the family and hometown) I’ll jump on it. I like it because the flights aren’t full and the baby and I will get our own row if the wife and I are unable to travel together.
Hate that SW caved in to assigned seating.

Everyone should be putting all of their spending on credit cards that offer some form of rebate. United makes sense being Houston based. For Mrs Seater and I it is American. Everything goes on an AA branded Citi card or the Amex Platinum.
But for those who aren't going to be lookting to travel internationally, at least put your spend on a 2% cash back card. Paying actual cash, you don't get any rebate for that spend.
As for Southwest and their changes, it sure seems like they are abandoning their brand, which was the strongest in the US for sure. I however, haven't flown them since 2019. They made changes then that I found unacceptable and so they don't get any of my money. They certainly are no longer Herb's airline, now they are just a big carrier and their people aren't given the power to help passengers.

Re: Is nothing sacred?
Pretty much wrong. Disabled get to board first. On all US airlines all the time.
What this change will do is remove the Southwest miracle healings. Often Southwest flights have 10+ wheelchair bound passengers when boarding. But due to the Southwest miracle effect, some passengers are healed during the flight and only 2 or 3 need the wheelchairs upon arrival.
But assigned seats likely end this miracle.

I wasn't aware there was such a thing as the Southwest Miracle Effect. Scumbags.Left Seater wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2024 5:30 pmPretty much wrong. Disabled get to board first. On all US airlines all the time.

So the disabled can grab a bulkhead seat even though Average Joe reserved it??

Re: Is nothing sacred?
Naw. On Southwest they prevent the disabled from sitting in bulkhead and exit row seats.

FWIW, So far I've been able to get a bulkhead seat on SW every time I've flown with them.
My wheelchair and I fly from DCA to MCI twice a year to participate in a medical study.

I was going from ORD to Salt Lake a few years ago and had my favorite seat in first class 2b all set. Before the flight I watched some apparent crippled ass Prick (had a big prick aura) had his buddy dragging him around, and speaking for him like he was mute. THey tortured the desk people for about half an hour trying to get upgraded seats. For both of them, In first class. Answer was no. Anyway they boarded first and he was putting on a great show, obvious bullshit.
But wait... After we are all seated, the attendant came to me and says " the handicapped man behind us asks if you would trade seats with him, as he is uncomfortable." I smiled at her and said I cant give you my real answer, but No. She smiled and nodded. Went back and hopefully told him to fuck off.
Anyway, getting off the plane the guy was still pissed because he didn't get his seat and forgot he was crippled, he walked off the plane and suddenly he could speak and move his legs. What a piece of shit. He we soundly jeered as he left.
The airline should let Lefty beat their asses and then make them ride under under his seat cushion. Goddamnit.

I have been asked to move before and am happy to accept when it is in the same cabin.
I am no longer surprised when people ask to switch and they are in coach and want your first class seat. The answer in those cases is hell no.

This is going to sound horrible of me but my wife and older kids dropped me and the baby off in Atlanta to catch a flight back to Houston a few weeks ago. When I was walking to my gate I noticed there were quite a few people on scooters and 95% of them were of AA demographic; however, they represented about 20% of airport patrons. I’m not trying to say anything but the numbers certainly didn’t add up.

Re: Is nothing sacred?
If you're like ScrewMikeyLux this is a good sign. 20% isn't nearly enough but we're trending in the right direction. Let me explain.
You ever see black people walk through an airport? It's like watching mimes in blackface pantomiming slow motion. You'd think there's a hangman's noose or a pair of work boots waiting for them at the end of that walk. Shit, I've seen black women in spotless white jump suits walk so slow the lenth of dey stride was shorter than da lenth of dey shoe.
This is a problem. White people be gettin to dem airplanes way too quick. As Kamala Harris has so inspirationally stated, regardless of where a person starts or how hard they try, society has an obligation to ensure everyone arrives at the same place. That's equity. The primary responsibility of government, corporations, and societies at every level, is to guarantee everyone arrives at that plane equally.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the number of black people riding carts to exceed 90%. That's a sign of a healthy society. Simply put, walking fast is not part of black genetics. They are predisposed to conserve energy until a threat emerges and then BAM! They're off like a rocket, escaping an angry rhinoceros, Derek Chauvin, or maybe a paternity hearing.
Re: Is nothing sacred?
Wow. Really just wow.
RACK the racist stereotype and weaving in the strawman to boot. If I didn’t know better I’d assume that this was satire.
Ever notice how dem black folk just seem to shuffle along and always makin lotsa dem little black babies? And dem libruhl white folk dey seems to jus be OK wit dat. An now we gots one dem running’ fo presdent!! You know dey all dummer dan a can of cream corn. Course white ‘merica won’ let dat happen.
Scuse me while I adjusts my false teefus.

Re: Is nothing sacred?
Mikey, at least some of HPG's post appears to be from observation. I can't say I've seen the same thing, but I believe it to be his honest testimony. I don't really get it, I mean, the intentionally slow gait he mentions, if that is even a thing.
Something like this?
