Trump has experience in destroying the Constitution, ignoring pandemics, being a tyrant fluffer and hating brown people.
We don't need that type of experience.

Mix in some news sources other than Faux News, NewsMud and National Review. Dump screwed the Constitution by nominating justices who lied during their Senate hearings. Do a Google search for "Roe is settled law." And in doing so Dump allowed SCOTUS to trash the 1st Amendment as well as establish the office of POTUS as being above the law. Dump clearly said that Covid would go away in Feb/2020 thru late March 2020 in spite of refrigerator trucks being filled up at hospitals. He sends love letters to Kim Jung Un, praised Vlad Putin, Xi Jinping, Tayyip Erdoğan, and Victor Orban...all dictators. Meetings with these despots as well as comments about them are easily found (again) via a Google search.mvscal wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2024 3:02 pmEvery single assertion is false. Did you notice that none of the prior Republican Presidents or Vice Presidents attended the Republican National Convention?
Listen to what former Vice President Cheney says about trump:
Even trump's own Vice President refuses to support him. Of trump's Cabinet members, 40 of 44 do not support him, here are some of them, and more:
trump's first Defense Secretary, General James Mattis said that Trump was a threat to the US Constitution and used Nazi tactics to divide people. He wrote this in an op-ed in the Atlantic 6 months before Jan 6th.

Mark Esper has recently said that trump is a threat to US democracy, and if he is re-elected it might very well end. This is both of trump's Secretaries of Defense.

His first Sec of State Rex Tillerson said on stage on camera that the reason he was let go was that trump continuously asked him to do illegal things which he refused to do.
Link
His national security advisor John Bolton said he was unfit for the office of the Presidency. And that he planned to move the US out of NATO in a second term.
Link
His Chief of Staff John Kelly, a retired 4 star general, also said that trump was unfit to serve the office. In an interview with CNN he went quite a bit further:
“A person who is not truthful regarding his position on the protection of unborn life, on women, on minorities, on evangelical Christians, on Jews, on working men and women,” Kelly continued. “A person that has no idea what America stands for and has no idea what America is all about. A person who cavalierly suggests that a selfless warrior who has served his country for 40 years in peacetime and war should lose his life for treason – in expectation that someone will take action. A person who admires autocrats and murderous dictators. A person that has nothing but contempt for our democratic institutions, our Constitution, and the rule of law.

Wow!
Incredible clip.
Among other things, Dump says, "Harris was always of Indian heritage. She was always promoting Indian heritage. I didn't know she was black -- until a number of years ago, when she happened to turn... black. Now she wants to be known as black. Is she Indian or is she black? I respect either one, but she respects neither."

What message is that?
That we need to further enrich the wealthy?
That we don't need health care?
That this nation should be a theocracy?
That SCOTUS shouldn't be held to an enforceable code of ethics?

My take is that Trump's response told on himself and some supporters (what percentage I can't say). The point of view that the hordes of mud are an undifferentiated smear of pollution is exposed by his flippant characterization of VP Harris' racial identity morphing. This attitude is what the interviewer was trying to get at, and she hit pay dirt.

The interviewer came out of the gate in attack m0de.
Not good on her part.
She initiated the confrontational mood.
That said, I don't think there is much deep strategy involved in Dump's approach.
In any appearance, what he seeks to project is that he is the strong one.
He is the one upholding integrity, and he is the one whom an intelligent person will get behind.
So, when the interviewer came out of the gate attacking him, he turned that up a notch.
He turned that right back on her in an attempt to show that she was weak and stupid, and that he is the smart, strong guy who the weak black lady was trying to smear.
His comments about Harris trying to shift her public persona from "Indian" to "black" is his way of trying to make Harris seem weak, feeble, and stupid.
He is trying to say that Harris is weakly pandering to black people.
Again, not much deep strategy involved in what he does.
He just wants to project strength, and show that the opposition is weak.
In his mind, that's his ticket.
America wants to get behind a strong winner, not a weak loser.
Of course Dump is a racist, as is a very large segment of MAGA.
It is what it is.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is living in a fantasy world.

The D party could nominateallow its capos to select a dead cockroach for president and 47% of the voters and 100% of the libtards on this board would embrace the choice without question. The election will be decided by the near brain dead 7-10% of the electorate that rarely shows up to vote and does so on scant information that might or might not be true. thinking back to when I joined SCIII in the summer of 2000, the election coming up was Bush against Gore. And of course on the board there were fierce poli-smack battles raging over that. Yeah, what a simpler time. Would a post of yours in those days about that election be as dire, cynical and pessimistic as the above? 2000 wasn't all placid and serene, of course. I recall a hanging-chad troll or two and the Supreme Court ruling. The election then, going forth into the new millennium, was about the future... of money. The one thing you could always count on in the past was that people participated in elections because of money. But now the west is in full on post-modern mode and there is no meaning left to fight over. The unvarnished truth of every thing is that there is no Truth about anything. One side, yours, worships lucre in all its grubby glory, and you want all of it in the most laissez faire environment possible. The other side wanted money too, but wants yours, and redistribution of wealth is what their vote is all about. Given this condition, it is time for you to embrace your fate and join "White Dudes for Harris". Yeah. All the geniuses who spout off with "its all about the Benjamin's" like they're prophets who received revelation from on high are no longer so plugged in. It was so easy, wasn't it? The world is now loaded with those who aren't so motivated by your G0D$. I have sympathy for you, because the rule of rules, every one has their price, in legal tender, is through.

This thread, and countless others on this board, is evidence that the R and D camps will not budge from supporting their candidate, no matter what.
So, what is going to move the "7-10%" undecideds to vote for either side?
I believe their personal financial situation will be THE biggest determining factor.
"Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?"
Of course 4 years ago we were right in the middle of Covid, so it has been highly unusual.
That said, I think generally, people will answer, "No, I am not better off now than I was 4 years ago. And the future looks shaky at best."
That doesn't not bode well for the incumbent, which Kamala effectively is.

Inflation surged to its highest level in over 40 years. Despite recent moderation, consumer prices are up more than 19 percent overall. Gasoline is up 46 percent.
Average weekly earnings haven’t kept pace with prices. After adjusting for inflation, “real” weekly earnings dropped 2.3 percent.

Oh no, I’m in total agreement with YOU. “We” should not allow these greedy corporations to set prices at all. That should be extremely limited and regulated. Our democracy demands it. Just like rent controls, there should be extreme price controls on gas, food, clothing, essentials so that these greedy business owners can only make a small 2.3% profit or better yet break even, because that is what their fair share of profit should be and nothing more. That would immediately lower prices and eliminate inflation forever. This type of regulation would also encourage more empathetic and compassionate entrepreneurs to enter the market and start new businesses, if they knew what they were doing was for a noble cause. Throw in a $50 federally mandated minimum wage and all the compassionate bankers and financiers would come out of the woodwork to invest heavily in business owners who are compassionate and caring about others rather than greedy profits.Diego in Seattle wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2024 12:21 amSo what you're saying is that if we allowed corporations to set prices as high as they want they'll turn around & either use those profits to lower prices or simply give that money away?L45B wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2024 11:28 pmThe incumbent had nothing to do with the current state of the economy. What an idiot.
Natural juices of competition will not solve this problem. It never does. Only the government can successfully lower prices and reduce inflation. This is a fact and our hero Joe has already proven it by signing the Inflation Reduction Act, which immediately reduced inflation in the same month that he signed the bill. I know, I watched the ink dry on C-Span.

How many national airlines are there right now? The incumbent had nothing to do with the current state of the economy. Diego should’ve told you out front that it’s all because of the rich corporations raising their prices to pad their own pockets. That is not Joe’s fault at all. That is the evil corporations being greedy and mean. If they were taxed more heavily, all that money that they are hoarding in their giant Scrooge safes would be in the government’s hands, and could be drizzled over a large crowd of asylum seekers in my 14th district of NY.
What an idiot.
How many national supermarket chains are there right now? How are grocery prices doing right now?

These are on-point questions that only someone would ask who truly understands how economies work! There’s an over saturation of consumer choices for airlines and grocery stores and gas stations. And supply chains for those businesses are even more saturated! And there’s still super duper high prices across the galaxy! Proof that it’s not just a USA problem.Diego in Seattle wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2024 2:09 am How many national airlines are there right now? How are airfares these days?

It’s also proof that competition in the marketplace is just a cheap-fake and government intervention is the only answer to stop inflation because corporations collude together and price gauge everyday with zero oversight. Just plain mean and greedy. And you can’t convince me that the influx of newly printed dollars into the US economy is causing the inflation problem, because most of those dollars go overseas to help our friends in the Ukraine and they use it to buy American products which pumps dollars right back into our economy, which increases the value of money in our wallets.
Only Plump’s tax cuts negatively affect the buying power in our wallets because trickle-down is super mean and greedy and only benefits the super rich corporations and their CEOs’ Scrooge safes. This is just Economics 101, Google it. Nonetheless it will take Kamala and BuddhaJudge to save this catastrophe in January that Blump caused in the first place around the time he was colluding with Putin.
