GOHSEP has been activated and we'll be meeting later this morning.
Looks like it is now headed more to the east than what is shown in Softball Bat's map. Or in other words, Louisiana's population center is going to flood.

Thanks for the heads up. The last thing you’d want is for your dumpater to get blown away.

Funny, I thought it was Wolfie. But I'm getting old and my brain seems to be aging faster than the rest of me.

We will NOT joke about what was obviously a mere auto-correct by JtR's phone. Jess is living the dream
Whattaya mean *not*? In the words of Goober McToober, he's a fat fucking RETARD ( a phrase usually aimed at KC Paul) and the times he posted smackable material was intentional. Yes that's right folks he happily provided a target at his own expense but that's because he enjoyed well wrought smack. Said as much in chat eons ago.
And yeah I recall the time jtr posted a weather forecast for the benefit of some clown in Korea, and the legendary "barren"
malapropism.

You are truly one of the worst pieces of shit to ever post on this board. Start giving up your paycheck for reparations now and then you can shut the fuck up about your racist blasts.

Looks like it will hit as a Cat 2, and even as far north as Baton Rouge will have hurricane force winds. But the worst part likely will be the flooding, here in Baton Rouge we'll probably get 6 to 8 inches of water in just 24 hours, with about twice that overall in the next week.

Here we see gathered two of every kind of bureaucrat, assembled in this futuristic ark. They can be seem sampling the delicious cola substitute for water that will be distributed after the event.
Paint scheme for Superdome welcoming centre: approved.
So far just kinda rainy with not much breeze here in Baton Rouge. But it is on the way in just a few hours from now. My dogs are already upset, somehow they can tell something isn't right.

Would this be indicative at all about the storm being a slow mover, thus dropping even more rain?

The storm has slowed down some, but it isn't like when we flooded in 2016. That storm just stopped on top of us.
Baton Rouge is actually in a hurricane warning now, which isn't that common this far from the coast. Trees are going to get blown down, which means we'll lose electricity. And our generator is not installed yet damnit.
We're starting to get some gusts that are certainly out of the norm. Won't be long from now......

Have you got a set of clippers? Give yourself a mohawk before the power goes out. Your neighbourhood will need your iron-fisted leadership in the coming days.
My focus is the state, not my neighborhood. I was thrown into the state emergency operations command when Katrina hit, and have been involved at the EOC since then. I'm merely a liaison officer, but that is a part of the command staff. Things sure have changed since Katrina. Because we've had so much experience with disasters, other states come here all the time to watch our process. The head staffers are military and that would be evident if you could watch it.
