How to Make Government More Efficient

Step 1 - Create a new department.
Step 2 - Staff is with billionaire narcissists.

I see some needed cutting.

Great example of the department of redundancy department.

Hitler created the same type of unchecked bureaucracy in the 1930s, cabinets filled with his murderous cronies, and look what happened!

How will college students get grants or loans without a federal department of education?? This is absurd!! I fear for my life. I fear for my life.

Trump is using them because he likes to be associated with the super rich (most of whom probably despise him personally). They want to be there so they can feel close to the reins of power. We’ll see how long this brohood actually lasts.

I’m picturing Ellen and Vivian sharing a table (not a desk) in the back corner of the oval office with a sign made from a sheet of printer paper folded into a tent, and marked "Department of Government Efficiency" with a magic marker.

You're just scared because something will actually get done.

Lefties in here need to get their talking points together. Is D.O.G.E. a highly funded waste of resources or two self-funded dudes being all thrifty sharing a table?

I think it's necessary and long overdue. Our federal agencies need an audit.

So they'll be getting rid of those fighter jet ashtrays that in the 90's cost $600?

I agree with the audit part. But do you seriously expect these guys to put the national interest ahead of their own self-interest? I’ve been following Musk’s escapades for more than a decade and don’t think that’s in the cards.

So you're fine with a government contractor performing audits that include....*checks notes....government contractors?

With a Repuke majority, do you think we’ll actually get a real audit of the Federal Reserve, like Ron Paul was begging for the last 30 years or so?

I hate both parties. They work hand in hand to fuck us over. I usually vote Repuke. But only because there is no better alternative. I wish we had a dozen political parties, all having to work with each other to form majority governments. Feckless, weak, parties, that don't spend their efforts figuring out how they are going to divvy up the zillions they steal from us. But that's just me.

Ok, so now you have an outsider again that is not part of the establishment (2-named uniparty)... unconventional and wanting to expose the rot & corruption. Tough to understand how you can't see glaring differences with the past 8 years of governance and what is being proposed for the next four years.

You, Sam, and a couple others in here need to let go of personality dislikes. Luckily a majority of Americans saw through the BS.

Of course not, but you're desperately anxious for the approval of your libtard and RINO golfing buddies. Have to brush off your vote with weak shit like "Drumpf" and "Repuke"

Sad and pathetic. All the moreso because you know better.

In the ten years I've been here, yes.

Haven't you noticed the conservative shift in politics here? They're fed up with immigrants, and Nuttyyahoo is driving more of them to come here because there's no buildings left in Gaza.

The most effectively run country I have ever been to is Switzerland. Yes, there are some things about that country that I do not like. But on the whole, the Swiss are fucking killing it. I bet there isn't a single person who posts on this board who knows the name of the Swiss President (without searching the Internet). Why? Because the Swiss President doesn't matter much even to the Swiss. There are 26 Cantons in Switzerland, which are essentially old city-states. Switzerland is a confederation thereof. The country is mostly run bottom up in terms of government. What matters to most Swiss is what goes on in their Canton. The Swiss "federal" government makes sure that the Cantons operate efficiently together. But it does not mandate much else upon them (there are a few exceptions). The Swiss, being mostly locally self-governing, have a lot of political parties (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_p ... witzerland). And they have to work together, both locally and across the nation. The Swiss are fiercely national. They are anti-immigration and put their own interests first. I would not be welcomed there even though I love the place (second to the U.S.). They have it mostly figured out in my opinion.

So...NO to globalism, multiculturalism, and multi-ethnics for the Swiss. Yeah, that's the easy way out.

America is much more welcoming and willing to make their wonderful way of life available to others. The US always welcomed immigrants...LEGAL IMMIGRATION. The law is just so passe with leftists because they know so much better than those before them. Saying no to criminals, drug smugglers, et.al. and knowing WHO is entering the country according to the LAW would ensure the foundations of this country remain intact...and not become a lawless shithole because a reckless political party needs a great influx of ill-informed outsiders to buy into and vote for their insane unpopular views.

Not quite. The Swiss are home to the World Economic Forum, The International Red Cross, the World Intellectual Property Organization and many other global organizations. The country has three main languages: French, Italian and German (and some would argue that Swiss-German is a language all unto itself). The Swiss took in tens of thousands of Albanian refugees in the 90's. And the country accepts legal immigrants from all over the world. But it only takes in people with certain skills or with financial assets that benefit the country. You walk in there and try to stay without authorization, your ass is going to be deported. They are not members of the European Union. They are incredibly militarized (the whole country is filled with military assets). All able bodied men are required to be trained for potential military service. But they do not threaten their neighbors. They are prepared to fight to defend their land, but want no more. And inside the borders the country is clean, the people are well-educated and you feel safe. If you haven't been there, you should go. If you have, then what are you bleating about again?

That's awesome and everything, but we aren't Switzerland and their organization doesn't translate to the US in any way, shape or form. Their only industry is financial privacy and chocolate.

Again, you don’t know shit about Switzerland. The country’s per capita industrial production exceeds the US.

https://www.brookings.edu/articles/glob ... r-nations/

It is a manufacturing powerhouse for its size. 13% of the country’s workforce works in industry compared to 10.5% here.

I wonder how the U.S. would look if they had CONTINUED that type immigration policy.
