Right.

For my annual employee review (since I work for you, the listener), I thought I’d crunch the numbers to come up with some relevant stats that might help in assessing my performance. Of course, the numbers don’t take into account intangibles like equipment malfunctions, DJ fuckups, and frequent self-induced on-air impairment, all of which reared their ugly heads more often than I would have liked during the year, but I’m hoping the productivity numbers will offset these to some extent. While this is the first time such end-of-year stats have been provided, I’m comfortable in saying that more shows were produced and more songs aired during 2024 than in any other year in the history of TuneTown, dating back to 2009. It was also the year during which the record was broken for most songs played in a single show (111 for show #39 in mid-September, shattering the old mark of 100). Keep in mind that very few of the songs (probably far fewer than 100) were repeated during the year. There was also a significant influx of new listeners in 2024, which should make the marketing team happy.

I’m hoping the review panel will take these factors into account when determining whatever annual bonus might be merited. Remember, TT is really only obligated to be presented weekly, with a week off here and there for personal reasons, and the year is now 50 weeks old, so keep that in mind when analyzing the numbers:

Yeah, the manual tracking & recording system results in far more of these types of occurrences ('sup, Biggie) than I'm comfortable with and is in need of updating. The attendee list for 12/6 has been amended.

Smackie BRINGS IT every time. Professionally-crafted sets with songs you’ve never heard, artists you didn’t know and rock trivia that would baffle the most avid fans. Plays all requests, gives appropriate shout-outs, and drinks and parties along with the crowd.

Tune Town is the best thing about this board which obviously isn’t saying much. I wish the TT technology was available back when the board was hoppin’. Would have been something else.

Saw Jon Lovitz do live stand-up comedy last night. A singer/guitarist was performing onstage as folks were getting seated. APT was one of the songs he played. I liked his version better.
