Thanks, and it is great news for me. Mind you though, it's been investigated at one point in time. Believe it or not, the U.S. Army can be selective. Just because you say "Hey I'm ready to go" doesn't mean you're going anywhere.

There are qualifications one must meet in terms of their health, criminal background, and marital status.

It will give me time to square some things away, things that were almost squared away when I turned 35 and time ran out.

On a serious note, I've actually thought about going into the Reserves with the increase in service age. Even though I'm opposed to the Iraq War, I'd rather get sent myself than have one of my kids go. But there's a significant drawback: I work for a small law firm and my job wouldn't be guaranteed if I were mobilized for active duty. Not to mention that my family can't afford the cut in pay that a callup to active duty would entail.
