How'd you do this weekend?

Played 9 on Saturday morning at the country club. I about killed our golf pro. Our club is small with very few members. If it wasn’t for the money my in-laws put into the thing, it would be real estate for sale. That being said, my in-laws have a legitimate gripe when we allow non-member tournaments at the club.

There was a 25 year class reunion tournament where not ONE single person in the 60 people playing in it were members of the club. So, they get an 8:00 shotgun start on a Saturday which is when our club is at its PEAK in players on the course. By the way, this tournament was not scheduled in the monthly newsletter. If it was, I’d still be pissed but I wouldn’t have planned on playing that morning. Anyhow, the biggest thing that pissed us off was that they brought their own food and drinks to serve.

FUCK THAT!

That’s where the club makes most of its money on these type of events!

Anyhow, I digressed. I shot a 44 on a 3 hour 9 hole round. I had an afternoon game set up for 2:00 that I had to rest up for since it was 100* outside.

So, we get to the course in Santa Claus, Indiana for our 2:06 tee time. 3 neighbors and I are basically playing to get away from the wives and see how many beers we can drink. Well, I am just ON on the front nine. I shoot a 38 and that was after I was 4 over on the first 5 holes where I had 3 putts that ended up within 6 inches of the hole dead on. Beer and heat kick in on the back and I shoot a 41. I end up with a 79, which is my best round in over a year so I was pretty damn excited.

I don't want to talk about it.

Shot 38 at my favorite hacker 9 last time out, after a bog on 1. I was chomping at the bit to follow it up.

The weekend didn't go NEARLY as well. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. I'll blame it on my sore right elbow....yeah, that's it.

I'm still a spaz. I shot a 45 on the back 9 of the home course for my lowest round this year on that 9 and followed it up with a 45 on a glorified exec course that, if I had played as well as I played the prior round would have been a 40.
