Looks like Mike Ness has come a long way since High School.

They sure did tear new one into the crowd at Street Scene here in San Diego last night, though!

i don't see the logo thing either. i used to know some prep school hippies in college (they always had the best marijuana) and if you wanted to piss off some mid 90's Greenwich, Connecticut or Newton, Mass hippie Dead/Phish acolytes you could always point out that about half the songs they did live were hillbilly tunes or written by Woodie Guthrie.
of course, *now* they all are listening to bluegrass and really into it's "musianship". Outside of Herman's Hermits covering Sam Cooke that rich thirtysomethings from the East coast bopping around to banjo music originally played by illiterate hillbillies and quaffing the latest microbrews is about as deep an irony i can think of.
but, that's Colorado.
to be on topic: my freshman roommate and I would listen to SD's Mommy's little Monster and smoke grass-- and Herman's Hermits will rot in hell.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
If you don't know what you're talking about (which trust me on this one, you CLEARLY don't), then you should probably keep a lid on it.
That Social D logo looks a lot like the Grateful Dead tattoo I almost got ( RACK good judgement), which I believe was even before Social Distortion was a band.
Those pics you posted are logos for individual albums, not the Band.
And a skeleton in a big-brimmed hat/top hat was part of the Dead culture in the late 60's/early 70's. But go ahead and keep telling my hippy-ass all about the Dead. It's amusing. Ungodly uninformed and inaccurate, but amusing. You're so far off base, it's funny.
I got 99 problems but the 'vid ain't one
Oh, and btw -- those two individual album logos have names, which since you're giving the lecture, I'm sure you're aware of?Rack Fu wrote:The Dead have two logos:
Little hint -- it's the Skulls and Roses, and the bottom one is Steal Your Face.
There's probably 50 more, in case you were wondering.
"The Dead have TWO logos".....BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Killing me, bro. Tell me more -- It's not like I spent a chunk of the 80's/90's taking a bunch of LSD and seeing the Dead or anything...I'd love to hear more history from a hater.

I had no use for Jerry Garcia until Cherry Garcia came out. That Dave Matthews flavor is pretty damn good too. :D
And you think you're alone on the hippie hating?
Pass the lettuce, please.

The fact that you like the Dead more or less leaves you out of any debate on musical taste.Dinsdale wrote:Oh, and btw -- those two individual album logos have names, which since you're giving the lecture, I'm sure you're aware of?Rack Fu wrote:The Dead have two logos:

I'd have more respect for you if you said that you were a Britney Spears and Nsync fan. Seriously.

There's something eerily familiar about that statement, I just can't seem to put my finger on it. Where'd I put that damn braincell...?Dinsdale wrote: -- It's not like I spent a chunk of the 80's/90's taking a bunch of LSD and seeing the Dead or anything...
On the topic, I listened to SD recently for the first time as well, I liked them.

I'm shocked.
