Cool site for beginners. I think if you read through enough tip and tricks, sooner or later you'll always find something useful.

I believe it was Rushville that said something about "posing for the cover of Golf Digest on the follow through," or something to that effect recently, and you'know...that was a great tip. I've even passed it on to others who seem to like it as well. Sounds silly as all heck, but it definitely gets you concentrating on the follow-through. And a good follow-through seems to fix a lot of the other problems.

Keep 'em coming.

If it will help fix my ever increasing handicap then at this point in time.. I'm willing to give about anything a try..

Fuck..

How does one balloon from a 14 at the beginning of the year all the way up to a 21..

Very very easily when you listen to a pro that convinces you to try changing the swing plane.

Oh hey...maybe I can beat someone here. The injured elbow and shoulder are starting to chill out, and I'm finally starting to not spray it everywhere nearly so badly. Heck, I'm even getting quite a few to actually go straight down the middle with correct loft. It's been a while. And without the little twitches and twangs making me flinch combined with our summertime concrete soil, I've been flat smoking some drives. These days, if I catch one clean (sup not every time, but getting more and more consistant all the time), getting 290+ is no big deal. If I ever get my hands on a real driver (went back to my old $20 special after my clubs got ripped off), I'd probably be dropping some jaws. Then again, as much risk as I take with my monster swing, I should be getting rewarded for getting a hold of one.

I've been keeping it under bogey lately. There's been times in the last injury-plagued year that I wondered if that would ever happen again.

It's funny how when you bring your wedge and putter to the party, even if you're spraying it, the scores don't get too far out of control.

About now, I'd be content to keep it under bogey golf.
In fact, the last time out that was my plan, play bogey golf and try to squeeze a couple of pars out of it as well.

It worked until I got tired of playing conservatively and tried to go for a green in 2 which I used to be able to make.

Yesterday evening, I hit the Twighlight Special at Greenback (sup Ken). The dudes we were paired with played the whites, so we when-in-Romed( we usually refer to those white ones as the "winter tees.") Makes #10 like a 460 yard par 5, albeit kinda uphill. My power-faded drive (hole plays slightly L to R) didn't quite catch the fairway. I actually managed to dig it out of a somewhat deep lie with a 4I, and catch the front of the (large) green from over 200 out. Missed the eagle putt, but not by much. Tapped in for bird. Missing an eag putt (even from 1,000,000 feet) sucks, but I've had so incredibly few lately, it was nice to at least get a chance at one. Hell, I haven't made an eagle putt in like forever. Last eag I got, I wasn't on in 2 -- I chipped it in from the fringe.

Don't get me wrong -- eagles are pretty damned few and far between for this guy.

Oh, and I followed up the tap-in bird with an 8 on the next (par 4) hole. Some really bad chipping/bunker play went down."Runaway holes" kill.
