Usa Today top 25 poll out -

Post by The Seer »

Ucla ranked like 36th or something.....ahead of

Nebraska
Kansas St.
Notre Dame
Clemson
Maryland
Arizona

Well, if they say it, it must be true, right? Cancel the season and start Bowl season....

Pre-season polls are a fucking joke.

Florida could very well be good enough to finish 11th or even in the top 10. Urban Meyer is a more than capable coach, I think we can all agree on this. Chris Leak is an athletic specimen and Florida has eough talent at WR to put alot of points up on the board tis season. The biggest question in my mind is how well the transisition from one coaching staff to another occurs.

I am surprised no one is a little miffed to see Tennessee that high. I know they return a lot of guys, but they havent contended for a NC in about 5 years.

Michigan hasn't contended for one in longer. Neither has Texas or VaTech. The last time you contended for a NC has nothing to do with your team's chances this year.

Ok it is going to be asked so here goes.

Who the shit gave Texas the 2 first place votes?

I figure it was stoops and Tressel, cause this is their way of getting their guys psyched and building up Mack for another fall.

BTW is there a regional SI jinx

Hopefully SI can alternate USC and Miami for the covers all season. They both need serious jinxing. I don't actually think Miami can win the title but they are still Goldtooph U so fuck 'em.

Florida #3? I'm surprised SI had Meyer winning the freaking SEC(and a BCS bowl) in his first season. If he does it is safe to say USC has a new rival for national dominance. I think Trix would have to be banned.

Cause Mack doesn't have the balls to vote Texas #1 in the preseason. That would be setting himself up for failure and he doesn't do that. He is into self-preservation.

so you are saying he can fail on his own quite well? perhaps Mack voted Texas #1 so that he could use that on the recruiting trail come February?

we shall see on Sept 10th if Texas is a #2 or tOSU is a #9...

I can hear Trev Alberts now...even though tOSU gang raped Texas, texas is still the better team. Or if Texas gang rapes tOSU, Jimmah Meds and Trev Alberts would definitely peg tOSU as overrated... :D

I don't have any problems w/USC. I USED to dislike Carrol w/the Patriots, but I'm warming up to 'im. What Miami's been doing the past few years is fine w/me. So long as they finish out of the championship game, it's all good in my book. It's #1 that counts...

... although it WOULD be kinda nice to see 'em finish out of the top 25 for a decade or four.
