And the last thing we need in the White House, in the oval office, behind that big desk, is some chicken who wants to push this yellow button.
i've said it before; and, i'll say it again.
Auto Racing to watch in person:
1. World of Outlaws (WoO)
2. NHRA Drag Racing National Event
3. NASCAR
i think that y'all know my roots by now:
i've worked at 3 NHRA National Events as an Official, grew up with a Dragster in the Garage, have spectated countless NHRA Division Series Races...and many Springnationals and US Nationals....
World of Outlaws is the Greatest Show on Dirt...errr...Earth.
granted, i'm spoiled...i can get to Eldora in about 2 hours.
Eldora is the FASTEST 1/2 mile in the world....you're on top of the non-stop action....and you can't keep up with the action...because you can't see (drunk and dirt!)
hit the WoO website and find out when the Tour is in your Area--->and just GO!
fucking sleep in your Car if you have to....been there and done that.
its CHEAP too!!!! 'cuz these are still Mom and Pop Tracks for the most part.
Do it!
(Wagon--->take Paully up on his offer!)
if you can get to a NHRA National Event--->DO It! (and pony up the x-tra $$$ for the Pit Pass!)
i would suggest going on Saturday--->Pro Categories' final qualifying sessions are priceless: Run FAST with your back against the wall--->or go home!
why get a Pit Pass?
there is nothing quite like being 10 feet behind John Force's (or anybody's) Funny Car or Top Fueler...they're tearing it down to the chassis....rebuilding absolutely EVERYTHING...putting it back together...then "warming UP" the engine.
these cars are all under Canopies....and they emit FUMES....if you are 10 feet away....what might you experience?
FUMES?---->that make you cry like a little bitch and choke like Jenna?
and, mix it in with a freaking Minor Earthquake from the POUNDING of a 5000 horsepower NITRO Powered Monster.
all yours for the price of a Pit Pass.
bottom line
WoO--->best Racing Show
NHRA--->best Show if you know what to look for.
NASCAR in person...i'm jaded 'cuz i've only been to Michigan Speedway.
best seats--->grandstands overlooking Pit Road.
it takes 47+ seconds to make a lap...cars pass in front of you....well.
let me just say that it is a great weekend getaway....'cuz you're gonna' Camp, drink a Ton and eat like a barbarian. you're gonna meet a LOT of interesting people...'sup Candians? and the souveniere row shopping might be the "highlight" of everything.
NASCAR Events are an "experiece!"
one of my buddies scored a Street Sign--->Ted Musgrave Blvd.
we've traded Koozies with crazy Canucks...drinking under the Stands @ abooot 30 laps into a Busch Race (90 degrees oooot). from there...we went to race go-karts then eat steak and drive back to Ypsilanti (ouch).
wifey and i scored freebies for MIS this Sunday....and, we'll have fun.
if its FREE--->its for ME!
kids--->please do yourself the favor of catching a WoO or NHRA EVENT....
you're welcome and WAR DRUNK SHOPPING!
