Broke.....
Your ticket sales are a joke
You're tellin me and everyone, we'll have first poke....
You don't have to feed us a lie
You don't have to always be right
Let us take some of the GA tix tonight
Listen to us now
We need to let you know
You don't have to go to our show
And it's we when you look in your wallet
And it's we when you can get to our show
Sometimes you can't pay it on your own.
We play
All the place
We and they, its ok
Its a rich mans game
I don't need
I dont need to hear you say
If it weren't for tickemaster
You'd like us a whole lot more
Listen to us now
We need to let you know
You don't have to go to our show
And it's we when you look in your wallet
And it's we when you can't come to our show
Sometimes you can't pay it on your own
Yeah, yeah, yeah
I know we don't talk
And you're sick of it all
But...you...won't....hear....me....when....we.....siiiiiiiing
You're the reason we sing (allegedly)
You're the reason whyyyyy we're rich as hell
We're stylin now
Still we got to let you know
Poor fan does not make us dough
Don't pay to see our show
And it's we when you look in your wallet
And it's we that makes it hard to go
Sometimes you can't pay it on your own
Sometimes you can't pay it
Best you can do, is to stay put
Sometimes you cant pay it on your own
That about sums it up.
U2 Fans: Sometimes You Can't Pay It On Your Own

Why hell no!!
U2 are my #1 fave band, but come on, I'm a fan, not a fanatic. I've got two sons who need to be looked after and supported. I can't justify paying $40 to a fanclub just to be able to buy tickets and read articles (although I heard the key chain gifts are nifty).
Hindsight being 20/20, though, I shoulda forked out the $40 so I could be selling those things for 10 times the face value on ebay.
Oh well. I did. I 'splained it in another thread.
It was a scam, didn't start on time, when it started it was a pain in the ass but I got tickets.
If I felt like sleeping out at the ticket sale place or whatever I might get better seats and pay more but, like I said. The wife is happy, I'm happy.

With all the horseshit around here, you'd think there'd be a pony somewhere.
Well glad things worked out for ya, Tom. In a perfect world, I'd be a rich man and would pay for a luxury suite at the Arrowhead Pond and treat 15-20 of my closest friends to a night of U2.Tom In VA wrote:Oh well. I did. I 'splained it in another thread.

But as we know, the world isn't perfect.....and I don't have 15-20 close friends! HA!!

That was the most epoch post I've read in a long time, dude. Funny ass stuff!
I, for one, have seent them live from:
Front row, Pontiac Silverdome, 1987 Joshua Tree Tour. (Thought we were going to be killed when the lights went out for shows beginning! - 'Streets' was their walk-on tune. Classic)
Also got in the nosebleeds at the Palace of Auburn Hills, Mi. 4 sections from front of stage. Sideways view. Kind of cool though. 'Zoo-TV' Tour. (Bono actually ordered 50 large Domino's Pizza's, and when they came, he grabbed some, and helped throw them into the first 10 rows! Nice snack, in mid show!)
Missed the last couple. 'Pop Mart' and their last one a few years ago. I was pissed. Funds just weren't there. But THIS time, this new CD is so much better than anything since 'JTree', it's not even funny. I will camp out, if need be. They wont be around Detroit until fall, so the weather won't affect me and my quest at all. I know this one Tick-Master, that not a lot of people even know is there. And I have been first in line more than a few times. This place has gotten me front row for ZZ-Top. VERY, very excellente' seats for Rush, like three times! I'll get there at least 10 hours before the 10:00 am sale. That should do it. But, for this live act, just being in the building should do. They use the stages as platforms to get out to the middle of each arena. I like that. By far the coolest band in the world right now. No one else commands this much attention and energy from their fans, worldwide. Politics or no.
