Jimmy,
Not sure if you are aware but we don’t have cheerleaders. We have 5 male “yell leaders” who use those signals to signal a particular yell. From the bottom deck to the last row of the top deck, the students all “pass back” the yell using the same hand signals. The yell leader then calls for the yell to begin by giving the “left turn” sign. Then, about 25,000-30,000 students do the same yell in unison.
Gay looking? You betcha. However, if you’ve never seen it before, it’ll give you chills. Still does for me.
By the way, they do this the whole game. We do the yells before the game to get warmed. Then we do the Spirit of Aggieland, then for each score, kickoff, opposing team score, end of quarter, and many places in between.

Yeah, they sing about Texas the whole game too. Sounds really good when they are losing to Baylor and talking about Texas! ;)
Nothing beats giving your wife shit (I want my mommy, milk it farmers, etc) while she is "cheering" with her fellow ags. Thankfully her 6 friends from A&M all married non-ags and there is protection in numbers. :)
