The Houston Texans management who left their dome open even though game time temps were in excess of 100 degrees.

Not that it worked or anything. But you would think the league would step in and have some kind of say in these cases. That fuckin bush league peice of shit franchise in Houston could have gotten someone killed for no reason.

The Texans opted to keep the stadium's retractable roof open in an effort to sweat out their neighbors from the Northeast. The strategy didn't work and instead, the crowd turned the heat on Capers, quarterback David Carr and offensive coordinator Chris Palmer for Houston's tedious playcalling and poor performance.

Should the league mandate that Miami needs to build a dome? Or Texas Stadium needs to plug that hole? Gets hot there, too. Or that Seattle needs to cover their lid? After all, it could rain and make the field slippery.:roll:

Training camp is still held outdoors in very hot parts of the country all over the NFL. The league did learn something and now players are monitored much more closely for signs of heat stress than they were before.

In this case, the only reason for leaving the dome open was to cause physical discomfort to the players. The Texans could have closed the dome at a minimal cost of time, money and effort. To compare that to a league edict that Miami build a dome is completely fucking retarded.

I remember when that stadium first opened and I was like "why the fuck do they need a dome in Houston?" and some of you SoTex fucks about came out your socks telling me how hot it was there and a dome was absolutely necessary. I won't swear to it, but I'm pretty damn sure that Red and poptart were among that crew.

Why don't the Packers build a dome to protect the visiting teams from the cold and snow? I bet they get a wee bit uncomfortable during the games. Why, I bet its a bit of a home field advantage. Obviously, southern teams have no right to run their own stadia in order to excercise their own home field advantage, but cold weather teams are allowed to revel in it. I see. You still fail to see the ridiculousness of your stance. Stringer died due to abuse of ephedra, the Niner lineman died of a heart condition. Dozens of NFL players have been paralyzed because of spinal injuries, and hundreds have had their careers cut short because of catastrophic joint injuries.

Not true. Why do you think Steelers players took IV fluids before the game? They knew the danger that was out there. Only this time is was a danger that could have been minimized without affecting the integrity of the game.

The fact that they took IV fluids proves what I have been saying. They took proper precautions, just as there are heaters on the sidelines in cold weather, and players wear layers under their uniforms, and QBs wear hand warmers around their waists. You do what you have to to play. There is no onus on the Texans to close the roof to make the Steelers comfy. Get used to it.
