Chiefs/Eagles- Early thoughts

Post by BBMarley »

Chiefs- Meet your headache for next week.... :D

Image

I think this game can go either way. Going into Arrowhead is never an easy thing. Mcnabb and Akers are both banged up- which does not bode well for the Birds. The Birds secondary can handle the Chiefs' receivers- but Gonzo and Holmes/Johnson scare me. Trot had a huge game yesterday- and if he can replicate it again- it will go a long way to help.
Really need to see how the game tonight goes for the Chiefs before making an early prediciton- but I think next Sunday will be one hell of a game either way...

If I were the Chiefs I'd send a scrub out in the pregame to bait the fuck out of Trotter.

I don't think Trotter will be stupid enough to ever get drawn into that again.... That still pisses me off when I think about it...

I think the Chiefs win this game. Eagles will probably be without McNabb who might be out the next 2 weeks plus the bye. (eagles have a bye after Dallas).

I think they could beat Dallas without McNabb but not KC. It is one of the hardest places to play on the road and the Chiefs pass rush would smother Koy or Mike McMahon.

I'm not so sure the Chiefs will be able to run that well against the Eagles. I think the Chiefs will play with a rather short field based on turnovers from the Eagles offense.

This is one of the games I've been most looking forward to. Philly is a consistently good team full of veteran winners that just keep maanging to get it done (SB not withstanding). A win against this Eagles team means we're for real.

If the Eagles play all their starters. Akers is out and there is a good chance MCNabb won't be playing either.. that definitely helps your chances.

Gotta wait to see how tonight's game plays out - barring any injuries, I like KC.

I'm hoping Philly comes in favored, as I remember reading KC has won outright as a home dog vs. the NFC something like 5 or 6 straight times

Arrowhead is a damn touhg play to play in. You have two teams that are very similar in they have HBs that can run and catch very well. It's going to be a game were the crowd is going to dictate the game. I see a Chiefs victory.

The Eaglles eeked oout a win and the Chiefs got buried.

Mmmmmm

I'd say the Chiefs will roll.

That is, unless Philly finds a power running game.

NFC Least teams never fare well in Arrowhead. Last nights humbling not forgotten, I predict a Chiefs blowout along the lines of 45-13
I hate sigs. But I lost a stupid fucking bet because a KC Paul lookalike and his sorry ass team were inferior to the greatness that is the Pittsburg Steelers.

They've got some making up to do after last night.

And it won't all come against the Eagles D.

Turnovers and special teams will play a huge role.

Just like KC wasn't prepared for Piled High, Philly won't be prepared for Arrowhead.

I've seen this scenario play out too many times, 007.

All valid points that I also think will contribute to a Chiefs win but 45 points is an awful lot for a defense and special teams to score.

I'm thinking 31-13 with the Chiefs capitalizing on a short field from turnovers and perhaps 1 special teams TD.

I say the Chiefs will win this game no matter if it's Norm Snead v. Bill Kenney.

My early thoughts. The Eagles will blitz the hell out of the Chiefs and try and do what Denver done. Especially if Roaf isn't playing. They will try and run the ball right up the middle because the Chiefs get no push there. They will hit short dump passes for first downs on McLeon all day long. That's not hard to do when he plays 10 yards off and back peddles 5 more a soon as the ball is snapped.

The Chiefs defense will probably play a soft zone coverage again and get lit up by Owens. If Cunningham don't bring the heat this week the Eagles will torch them. They need to do exactly what Atlanta did to Philly. Get in McNabb's face all day. That's easier said then done.

Bottom line is the Chiefs have to play much better in every phase of the game to win this one. The Eagles coaching staff will have them prepared. Something I can't say about the Chiefs staff and their effort in Denver. The O-Line better come to play, Sammie Parker better put some fucking superglue on his hands and the defense better stop the run or it's going to be another bad game.

Did Denver just show the league how to soundly beat the Chiefs much like Cincy did in 03'? I hope that was just one of those games and not a sign of things to come.

Score prediction yet to be announced.

The Broncos played a team that was hurt and a team that had just had a huge hard fought win in Oakland. Beating two hated divison opponents on the road back to back was just a blow out waiting to happen. The Chief offense is much more balanced than the Raider offense due to they've been together a lot longer and having one of the best offensive line in the NFL doesn't hurt either. You take Jordon out of the equation and the Raiders had nothing else to do but pass which gave us no ball control. The 2 headed monster that is Holmes and Johnson can run inside, outside, and over.

McNabb, Owens hurt and the sea of red not to mention the crowd noise is going to make it almost immposible. I sure as hell hope the Steagles can muster up a win and hurt a few more of them for our sake!

Played on a neutral field with everything else being equal, I think KC is a better team than Philadelphia and they likely win a real close game.

Playing this game at home against an Eagle team that is somewhat nicked, I like KC to win by less than a TD.

I'd prefer to see the Eagles win, but I can't call that.

17-0 early in the 2nd?!?

That 45-13 score is looking pretty good right now.
