B-West
As said multiple times at the end of last year, and this offseason- next to #5, Westbrook is the most important part of the Eagles offense... I think he'll get the new contract by week 10.

Come on, Orc. You really think T.O. would have a problem with them restructuring/extending a contract when the wouldn't do his?
I think he'd take it in stride like the professional he's always shown himself to be.

B-West is an unrestircted free agent.. Owens just wants more money- you would hope he would see the difference. Of course- he won't... but you would hopeHeadhunter wrote:Come on, Orc. You really think T.O. would have a problem with them restructuring/extending a contract when the wouldn't do his?

Me? I would hope? Hell no. I'm a Cowboys fan. I'd hope he jumped on his soap box, screamed to the press at every given chance and melted down like a little bitch, dragging everyone around him down. But that's just me.
Westbrook will be unrestricted after the season. At which point T.O. is STILL going to gum up the works. But for now, the only differences between westbrook's contract and T.O.'s is the length and value.

They will lock him up.. whether it be during or after the season- what he's done this year alone shows that they need to do that.Headhunter wrote:Me? I would hope? Hell no. I'm a Cowboys fan. He will be franchised. That's the Eagles MO.BBMarley wrote:They will lock him up.. whether it be during or after the season- what he's done this year alone shows that they need to do that.Headhunter wrote:Me? I would hope? I think they are waiting to see if he can play a full season without getting injured. That's why they haven't locked him up yet. That's why Buckhalter is still floating around.
If he goes injury free, I agree. They lock him up long term. If he goes down again they may still lock him up, but at a reduced price.
bidness as usual.

After the whole Corey Simon fiasco- I don't think they will. Like HH said... if he can stay healthy all year- I think he gets the big payday... If he gets hurt- they'll try and lock him up at a cheaper price. The Tag will only be a last resortjiminphilly wrote:He will be franchised. But if he keeps up this pace all year and stays healthy- you don't think they will up their offer at all? I know Banner is real set on his values for players.... but if he averages 120-150 combined yards per game with 1-2 TD's a game... I think that may change.jiminphilly wrote:The Eagles offered him a long term deal. Westbrook turned it down. They are not waiting for anything except for Westbrook to offer a fair counter-proposal or to sign on the dotted line. Westbrook has chosen to break things off.

If he averages 1-2 TD's a game he'd be one of the best RB in the NFL. The only RB who manages to do that is LT and Westbrook is not on his level.BBMarley wrote:But if he keeps up this pace all year and stays healthy- you don't think they will up their offer at all?
