Conference debate, volume 1,854, 354, chapter CVIV

Post by The Seer »

So at the end of the season, we pick our best players, position by position for the "conference all-star games"...

We vote on the outcome, not being able to vote for any game involving your conference....

I have way too much time on my hands....

How would you propose selecting the players?

I am in, how about we pick players from the ALL BIG12/10/SEC/etc... teams.

If a player isn't on that list (first or second team), they are not eligible.

Or is that too few players?

i'll reserve judgement until m2 posts some stats and then we can really get inside the numbers.

Great. The Pac-10 all-stars will be represented by USC. Competition over.

Touchy touchy USF fan is. My best bud is a grad from USF and he swears that USF is comparable to the Big 3 in Fl. Not yet, but maybe in due time. That conf got raped by the ACC and I dont see how it is any diff from the MAC or Conf USA at this point. Sucks, but until more than one team is reperesented in the Top 25, it should not be a BCS conference.

Let's see, 2 of the 3 best teams from the Big East leave for the ACC and you expect that the Big East is going to fill their shoes so quickly? Might I remind you that one of the departed Big East teams won your ACC last year and the other was near the top. The Big East will find a few teams in the Top 25 in a year or two.

I agree that USF is nowhere near the Big 3. A good showing tomorrow evening should close the gap. We have enough talent on our first team. It's just the depth that we lack at this moment.

Also funny how you say the Big East should not be a BCS conference when your own 'Noles went to a BCS game with 4 losses in 2002, with one of those losses being to then C-USA member Louisville.

mucho: Forget them...having grown up in Tampa and going to a summer session at USF(I always loved the old Bobby Paschal Basketball teams....Radenko Dobras, Hakim Shahid, etc). USF has a special place in my heart. What Jim Leavitt has done is nothing short of amazing to take a program from nothing to a BCS conference in such a small amount of time......just amazing. You should be very proud.

Thanks Rex. I am very proud of what Coach Leavitt has done. Last year was tough, but we were playing so many Freshman and Sophomores that the dividends will come soon. I certainly didn't expect what I saw last Saturday against Louisville. Hopefully last years growing pains will turn into our first Bowl bid. Long season left, but I am optimistic we will win our share of games.

Just give the damn award to Vince Young and get it over with. He is Michael Jordan if Michale Jordan decided to play football in college.
